this was what made me hesitate to try Common Side Effects (also Mike Judge being involved with it, given that he has some connection to Alex Jones, adds to the awkward) - not the best time for this kind of story. but the show is pretty good (and from a co-creator of the awesome Scavengers Reign) 🤷‍♂️

I feel like there has been some significant backsliding on one of the things that made bsky so appealing earlier - a lot more quote dunking on dummies here lately. I’m just muting those dummies myself (and they are dumb!) but I liked it better when these people were just ignored or blocked.

I wish I knew how to build my own bsky feed, I would make one that is my timeline but that allows only two posts that spark existential dread per hour. The ratio of bad to fun is way too high, but I'd allow in a little bit of dread as a treat, as long as it's balanced with a good amount of nonsense.

Twin Peaks made a huge impression on me when I found it in college, and I've rewatched it many times. I loved Lynch went wild with The Return, but was sad that, unlike original Twin Peaks, it wasn't Lynch collaborating with and fitting inside of "normal" tv. I still hoped he'd decide to do more tho.

I love that the Like A Dragon series has incredibly rich and well-developed characters that you really grow to love, and an intricate (and honestly a bit too convoluted) plot full of twists and turns and political backstabbing and Yakuza shenanigans, and also...the Honk Honk Man.
