As a Greensboro, N.C. resident, I’ll be there on the 8th and if you’re definitely running in my district you’ll have my vote come election time.

I’m 56 years old and agree with Hogg as well. It’s time for the Democratic Party to have young fire brands to take the baton. Hell, 30 years ago we didn’t even have personal internet or cell phones! These young people are better organizers and communicators with the vast majority of the population.

Martin Luther King a non-politician along with white allies faced death threats from the KKK and racist establishment including the U.S. government apparatus daily, was beaten and jailed! Now the so called privileged US Senators are afraid to do the job they were voted in to do but enjoy the perks.

Absolutely feckless and cowardice. What about the people like myself who’ve fought and died for this country? What about the people who died for voting, civil, and all kinds of suffrage rights for this country? Give me a break.

Outstanding! As a North Carolinian, I wholeheartedly wished that you were one of my two Senators! Good luck and safe travels Sir.

I absolutely agree with your disagreement. The visible protests is just a microcosm of the big picture of of the sentiments of the nation. It shows that people are organized across the spectrum to voice their willingness to fight back against the current state of affairs.

As an also sickened North Carolinian of the GOP shenanigans in our state. I had to check to make sure that I wasn’t one of the 60k voters to be thrown out. These people are beyond odious.

Good for her for displaying fight out of the gate. Too bad I’m not in Michigan to vote for her, but we North Carolinians can definitely focus on voting Thom Tillis out of office here next year.

So do I.

I live in Greensboro, N.C. county seat of Guilford County. This is Dark Blue Country. We’ve an African-American Sheriff and District Attorney. Why would he show up here even though that’s supposed to be his job representing all of us North Carolinians.

Absolutely outrageous that he’s going on a personal book tour to pad his coffers, instead of town hall tours raising hell for people that have lost their jobs from this administration.

It’s only a matter of time before we’ll have mass protests in D.C. once this insanity and chaos seeps deep into the roots of our society nationwide. We’re at the top branches of the tree now.

Actually what’s astonishing about this is that the vote was even close at 5-4! Meaning that four of these people sworn to interpret and uphold the nation’s laws were willing to vote throw it down the toilet! Unbelievable that this so court is even more so compromised and corrupt.

The least I can do even though I’m a North Carolinian is donate to these Dems running across the country especially in a Federal Special Election seats. Money helps them organize to get their message across regardless if it’s a very red district. The only polls that matter are the voting polls.

I’m a North Carolinian and can’t wait to vote Tillis and all of the GOP ilk out of office on the State and Federal level in 2026.

Absolutely so true.

We all know what Republicans are about in N.C. Absolutely nothing but keeping power and Anti-everything. The state legislature passed laws to limit the incoming Democratic Governor’s powers and trying to have 60k votes tossed out when they lost a State Supreme Court race. Nefarious people.

So true Marc Elias. We have to start from the bottom up especially on the local and state levels. In N.C. we have a Democratic Governor but a Republican Legislature because of the gerrymandering of both state and federal districts. State elections for offices and courts are even more paramount now.

I listened to Marc Elias and learned something today. He said that if a Federal Judge holds someone in contempt, i.e. the heads of these government agencies defying their orders, the Federal Judge can appoint a “private” prosecutor outside of the DOJ to prosecute the case against their defiance.

They couldn’t codify Roe even though they had the Trifecta. Democratic Senators Machin and Sinema didn’t side with the Dems most of the time to pass any type of monumental legislation, much less talking about getting rid the filibuster which they treated as sacred. They were basically Republicans.

As a North Carolinian I’m ashamed to even admit that my State’s two senators are Budd and Tillis. But thankfully and hopefully we’ll vote Tillis out in the 2026 midterms with a Blue replacement. :-)

As an African-American prior Enlisted/Officer and combat veteran. I’m glad that I retired April 2017. There’s no way in hell that I would possibly want to serve and put my life back on the line in today’s military headed by racist, misogynistic, and utterly incompetent leadership.

I actually heard Glenn Kirschner say this morning on the Stephanie Miller show that individual States are able to prosecute these people for crimes if the DOJ fails to do so. Presidential pardons only apply to Federal crimes. Something definitely to watch for if a lot of these lawless acts continue.

So true. I’m a retired military officer/enlisted. Good luck with recruiting and retention in this racist and divisive toxicity coming from the top.

The party definitely at this time of rebuild needs new and young fire brands to bring the heat and opposition as the tip of spear.

Senate Republicans face a more competitive senate map in 2026. Self preservation for them may be their main focus when the reality of the insanity of the incoming administration starts their recklessness.

MAGA voters will live the trauma of the ages old adage “you reap what you sow”.

I voted for her and we should swing our State Supreme Court back Blue in the next few years.

Very well spoken and articulated. If we all did this in our millions, they would bend the knee to the American people that makes them who the are.

We definitely need new blood and fire leading the party.
