10 years ago, my sweetheart of a mother-in-law was in a memory care unit of a nonprofit nursing home. The cost? $6,000.00 a month. THAT WAS 10 YEARS AGO. We were worried her money would run out. We were assured that Medicaid and charitable grants would keep a roof over her head.
