Why am I, in Britain, concerned about what's happening in the US? It concerns everyone on the planet. And, it concerns me because yesterday's speech from the US leader said, "...Not long ago ... 1 in 10,000 children had autism. Now it's 1 in 36. There's something wrong" I just ...what?/

My aversion to seeing “neurodiverse” person written or spoken, when it should be neurodivergent person, is becoming troublesome. I have such a strong visceral reaction to it…

I tried ‘tapping’ Emotional Freedom Technique) last week with my therapist, followed by going to a gong bath. Wow, what a peaceful evening! A taste of how my life as a fully emerged autistic person could be or at least a tantalising glimpse!

I have a new boss. She is AuDHD. I have worked with her on a project this week. What a difference! We shared our ideas in a direct manner, had clear outcomes articulated, worked collaboratively and were very productive.

The stats from my ‘Spotify Wrapped’ add to the evidence that I am monotropic!

Please don't share videos or images of autistic children (or adults) having meltdowns. You likely wouldn't want someone exposing your most vulnerable moments without your permission, and autistic people deserve the same respect and privacy. Spread the word. #neurodiversity #autism #autistic

I’ve made it to the weekend with that familiar, deep dread that I am in an Orwellian nightmare! Bring on the yoga, long walks and satisfying attention tunnels. Phew, I’m free for a little while….

Today is a get to the finishing line, grit your teeth kind of day. Have to work but body and mind are resisting. Monotropic spiral revving up once again. Most unpleasant. Otherwise known as ‘Friday’ to many high masking autistic people. Best wishes all. I have a long walk planned for tomorrow…

Starting to get into the nitty gritty of unmasking. The penny has dropped, for me it’s not so much about whether you can move and express yourself in a more natural way around others, although I certainly yearn for that.

Been pondering #monotropism with a friend who is #polytropic. What would the effects on a polytropic person be if they were ‘continuously forced’ or expected to navigate their day in a monotropic manner? #autistic

Have experienced #doubleempathy problem always at work. No surprise - I’m #autistic. This time it’s different as I understand the dynamic. So I don’t feel bad or ashamed. ….

I was offered #jobcoaching by my employer for supporting me as an #autistic person in my job. I was so happy to finally be understood and looked forward to a happier, calmer future. Sadly my story is a cautionary one. I have told them I don’t want or need it, simply want my reasonable adjustments!
