Please don't share videos or images of autistic children (or adults) having meltdowns. You likely wouldn't want someone exposing your most vulnerable moments without your permission, and autistic people deserve the same respect and privacy. Spread the word. #neurodiversity #autism #autistic

I've seen videos of adult meltdowns that were shared WITH consent. It was incredibly helpful to me to see I'm not the only one. It's one thing to be told about it, but it's something else to see it. I thank those who shared their vulnerable moments.
Consent makes the difference.
I would NOT want that posted for all the world (or even anyone) to see
But I definitely support the message
Then I emit a scream that haunts your nightmares & I try to kill you 🙃
It’s traumatizing to me & other folks. I’m not embarrassed by it, but I don’t want to put that on others.
Totally different, even if they seem the same to toucans.
Just sayin.
Except Elon
The same goes for autistic adults/children. If they have not given consent (or can't) to using images or video of them, you shouldn't be able to. Especially not of a moment like that.
I don't put my kids pic online without their permission, and often old photos that are not directly recognizable and connectable to them today. I can't fathom the person who thinks a meltdown is an okay thing to post in public.
