All HP Lovecraft stories begin like “I will try and relay the events as best as I can manage, though what I encountered that September night may not be able to be expressed in human language, nor be comprehended by the human mind” and then the story boils down to ‘I saw a building that was large’.

Really weird watching a coup in real time from my desk at work, putting in my usual hours. In the movies, everyone is at home or on the streets protesting. Makes it feel surreal.

⚠️ BREAKING: U.S. 🇺🇸 reports 3.794 million new COVID-19 cases in a single week, with 542,000 daily infections. Currently, 1 in every 88 Americans is infected with COVID-19. Transmission rates are now higher than at any point during 50.8% of the pandemic.

Small graces in that the NYT calls him "Mr. Trump"

Was stuck yesterday at a train crossing behind a Tesla with a worn/dinged up bumper sticker - "I got this before I knew Musk was batshit off his rocker."

Nice people are struggling over the revelations on Gaiman, and something I keep hearing is, 'His work had a big influence on how I shaped my own identity.' So here's something to remember: You did that. He didn't do it for you. 1/

Growing up in a small, semi-rural area, then moving to the nearest metro area for uni means taking a lot of things for granted. My coworker loves spicy food, but has never tried Indian food. A friend didn't leave our rural region (characterized by a 50-mile stretch of highway) until they were 20.

Spoiler-free Superman: Legacy trailer

In 1984, "party like it's 1999" was an double edged call to seek joy in the face of looming argmageddon in 2024, "party like it's 1999" is an escapist dream of slipping the JNCOs back on and staying up all night playing Goldeneye while drinking hard ice tea and smoking a pack of Marlboro Lights

Best-case scenario: an attempt at humor that fell flat Most likely scenario: low-effort blaming, clinging to the corpse of "video games make you violent" Another possibility: a nod towards the loss of journalistic integrity by not spending a few extra seconds to look up Among Us

I also need to work on art that isn't fanart, especially the self-indulgent kind. But DA:tV awoke all my dormant Solavellan trash heartache and, alack alack, I am cursed with a modicum of artistic talent.

After finishing DA:tV, there are exactly two (2) pieces of fanart I compulsively *need* to draw: 1) Lucanis x Rook, a la "Someone will die-" "-of fun!" 2) *try not to cry* *cry a lot* [spoilers]

I think it's high time i make a liminal space oracle deck

Got the lineart for my Mucha-inspired señora done and I cannot wait to get it colored. I'm just in love with her nose. Right upper arm is all about Mexican, left upper arm will be all about Native. 🥰

Reminder: you didn’t dream this

I took Tylenol PM cause I couldn’t stop asking myself: “Why did JD Vance post this on thanksgiving?” youtube.com/shorts/9-pqq...

Priorities: interrupting a day-long meeting to show off my bestie's dog

I feel like this was the greatest celebrity post of all time because you initially want to make fun of it because we’re all irony poisoned jerks but the sheer scale of human compassion overwhelms it and you end up going yes Vincent I also want to help a pig see the stars for the first time

I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever. #books #reading #booksky #poetry

The H5N1 sequence found in the hospitalized teenager shows two important mutations that improve the virus's ability to bind to human α2,6 sialic acid receptors. This adaptation is crucial for the virus's potential to spread between humans. The virus is evolving. #H5N1
