Just a few clumps of Chinese Garlic Cloves helping to sustain some of our most important pollinators. Where? on a UK #allotment in August 2024 🌱 For us, abstaining from junk food, treated food, and processed food is crucial, yet it seems that no-one on our street would understand why we do this.

well.. you couldn't wish for better than that. A cracking day on the #allotment. Growing season 🌱 is nearly upon us folks.

Dahlias divided 🌱. Should have done this last year, which made this time difficult. 2 big sacks containing 62 soon-to-be? plants. Not a label in sight 😂

100% wholemeal sourdough with wheat flakes #Breadsky

Had an amazing surprise today. Had some logs delivered, I mentioned "woodchip" (thinking #allotment 🌱). I've got loads he says. How much do you want? As much as you've got, says I. I'll drop 6 cubes off next week, says he, if you want more after that - let me know! FOC This is 6 cubes BTW 🙏😍

We're in NE UK. Cold start every yr, so we hold back with a lot of sowings - knowing they'll catch up. Especially Toms These pics were 26 October. Tomatoes 🌱 very happy still. We picked the last in December. No green Toms ever, everything ripens. Keep leaves to a min, no blight, no botrytis - ever

Japanese Milk #Breadsky Roy's favourite sandwich bread

As you know (y'all).. we don't do politics on here. Our favourite YT no-till grower Jesse Frost 🌱 has some comments on www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE8B... from 13:08 if you're interested

fresh wood chip on the #allotment paths, final steps before the start of the new growing season 🌱. On the other side of the fence are our octogenarian neighbours - following suit with wood shavings. First time we met he said "no dig? you have to dig!". 🙄

micro greens time 🌱 Broccoli and cheese on home made bread next week? nom nom

"Roses 🌱 are Red; Violets are Blue; this card was 50p; or 90p for two" whoever said that Romance was dead, but every little helps. 😂 #HappyValentinesDay

#allotment paths topped up with fresh woodchip on both sides now. Some pruning 🌱 to do this weekend - noticed that the Quince is just coming into bud

Pepper plant lifted from allotment greenhouse 10/24 and brought home. Big haircut, it flowered, we pollinated with a small brush 02/25 and we have a pepper ripening. All a bit of fun 🌱

it's quiet times in the evening that you reflect on stuff. I've mentioned that we renovated an old house. This house. 01/2019. I'd ripped everything out. No builder, 2 PT lads to shift stuff. At 60+, if 'owt had happened to me, then Tanya would have been stuck. Must be honest - it scared me..

It’s that time when I need to do a health check on the webpage… looking in good form. A few tweaks still to make, but if you’ve ever wondered what I do… it’s rather packed! (Although I’ve had to leave the full videography to YouTube, as it’s getting pretty extensive!) 🌱💚🌿 www.theallotmentcook.com

Took a fresh delivery of Cherry woodchip this morning. So into bags with some and off to remake a few of the paths on #allotment. Looks like shredded carrot 🌱
