I think the left variant of this class is addicted to self-flagelation so we're always pretending our interests are actually poor people's interests when we support a policy and then pointing out that people like us benefit when we oppose the policy. We should all be using more "I" statements.

I suspect the main criticism here will be that Trump is doddering or hard of hearing, but I would submit that he knew exactly what he was doing. Trump has a long history of saying seemingly odd, random things that underscore to his audience that black people who are questioning him are black.
