I play games in both analytical and self imposed challenges. I tend to play simulation, tycoon, city builders, settlement builders, survival crafters, etc.

My money's on audio issues, it's usually audio issues or one thing updates causing everything else to forget their settings for me.

Almost always, unless you're ending because stream got derailed by a hate raid or something where it would be a negative experience to the raid recipient.

Heck yeah! Don't be afraid to say hi while we're there!

If your subject line is something like "Hello!" or "I'd like to discuss an opportunity with you" I'm already 90% convinced it's spam since your subject says nothing useful.
Whereas "Key Included. Roguelike city builder 'Name of Game'" or "Twitch Partnership - 'Name of Company'" helps so much.

It wasn't particularly expensive to fix myself, but the risk of something shorting out and starting a fire was really high with their sloppy and incorrectly done wiring.
I prefer not having my home burn down because someone didn't take the time to do things correctly.

Bought my house from flippers who panic sold thinking the market was going to crash again at the time.
I opened a light switch to fix an issue... Found incorrectly and poorly done wiring, maybe a 1 off? Opened an outlet... Same... Had to rewire every single switch and outlet from that fire hazard.

Looking forward to TwitchCon US. I know not everyone will make it, but it'll be nice to see at least some of the gang.

That is entirely too many fantastic people concentrated in a single place!
How is the rest of town supposed to keep up when you're setting the bar is set so high!
Absolutely feeling major FOMO. Glad you're all having a great time!

Ah that makes sense, the dinos do sometimes dance a bit harder than they can really handle.

*shaking his head* Curly you can't stop the dance. If there's a dino, there will be dance.
Also, have a great day at Twitchcon!

Oh absolutely, I have a pretty hard stance against genAI.
It's just weird to me that if someone ultimately decides to use genAI why would you use it only in one of the cheapest to commission but most important places?
This is saving maybe 50 bucks to ostracize yourself.

Count me in on this one. Game looks good and ready for the town's tea to spill everywhere.

A good read is "Weapons of Math Destruction" by Kathy O'Neal.
It's not about AI but more so systems, often well intentioned, creating significant harm due to lack of vigilance.
Either use of bad/biased data, becoming their own source of truth, giving proxy measurements inappropriate value, etc.

Absolutely!
Not a data scientist myself, but a developer who's worked macroscale data / machine learning from the dev angle.
Systems making meaningful decisions needs competent supervision, no exceptions. This is especially true when a system's complexity make it difficult to challenge externally.

It's also rough with how much is early access too so even if you want to properly get lost in a game... I can't finish it yet.
There's just no keeping up anymore and as creators we have economic pressures to cover them too.
People want to see someone play to decide if they'll buy or not.

Heck, I've had books where the writing was just "okay" but the narrator's performance was next level and made me stick with the series because their theatrics were so fun.
I'm tired of the whole genAI all the things. This bubble can't burst fast enough. GenAI is an absolute deal breaker for me.

My vanity business would be publishing / producing games in underserved genres or weird, honestly probably not good, blending of genres.
Horror urban city builder? Sure, why not? Extraction shooter Stardew esk farming game? Let's do it! Action RPG theme park builder, no idea what that is but okay!

It was absolutely amazing! whole park was super well themed. Isle of Berk (How to train your dragon land) was honestly the one that impressed me the most.

On boarding new devs there was hell before that.
Batman is the domain controller, Joker is marketing, DrQuinn is purchasing, TwoFace is HR, yes they know, no they really don't like it.
Look, here's a print out I made because it's dumb but the boss thinks it's funny so we're stuck with it for now.

There is no incompetence with computer crashes. Most crashes are the result of bugs. Something completely outside your control.
About all you can do is run through the usual maintenance, and if a game causes crashes, you're forced to play something else. That's their failure, not yours.

I do enjoy games that don't do these things, but it's honestly been refreshing to have a game just appear, be a complete product, and not be afraid to give the players tools to experiment with it potentially game breaking ways.
I feel we lost a lot when games started worrying about being "too easy"

This is one of the hardest parts of content creation for me. I'm a data driven person.
Feedback is REALLY hard to get, often unactionable, but I'd rather get feedback I can't do anything about that no feedback.
Data *flips papers* it's a crap shoot of proxies of proxies and never clean data.
