Disabled people are the canaries in the coal mine. Anything that will impact a non disabled person will hit us harder & faster. Climate change, pandemics, supply chain issues, drug shortages… we have to have contingencies just to stay alive. Include us in emergency preparedness & everyone benefits

Just a reminder that severe mental illness is a disability. I love the world and humanity, but my mind is often a dark place. I always see things through the lens of a mentally ill brain, no matter how healthy I am. Suicidal ideation is a daily struggle for me and might always be. (Continued👇)

What a strong statement and how extraordinary is it to remain kind and supportive in a world literally forcing you to be equally cruel than others. Not becoming bitter like them is a sacred and beautiful act of Resistance. Staying kind, and equally strong, that should be our new faith.

This is helpful to me. My severe mental illness is taking it's toll and I'm grateful for these wise words.

My absolute take of the last ten years, perfectly said

The reason that the US is locking up tourists for weeks in hellish detention centers rather than letting them book tickets back home is because the detention centers are owned by corporations. They are charging the taxpayers fortunes to cage these people, and making bonanzas off their suffering.
