Yup!
- Under by <5: just missed
- On the nose: just hit (can be half-damage)
- Over by <5: hit
- Over by 5-9: good hit (can be damage rolled at advantage)
- Over by 10+: great/critical hit (can be max damage rather than rolled)

Yeah. I think many people really enjoy that, which is totally fine. If it feels a bit much, I've found pauper commander to have a slower ramp that's a better fit for me.
