Our present environment is a result of a decade’s long operation to keep leftists from power, to undermine labor, control all politics and economies, create hyper monopolies and oligarchies, and keep us isolated from one another in order to squelch any notion of class consciousness.

The capitalist dream is to essentially wipe leftists from the face of the Earth and keep politics trapped in a center-right / far-right paradigm, which inevitably speeds toward fascism. Because fascism is way more preferable than even the specter of criticism or reform.
