@farli.bsky.social re: your last post about the FF14 MTG set... We're also getting this glorious jerk in the set as well, from the artwork released on Wizard's official site.

- Y'shtola, Night's Blessed - Final Fantasy XIV x MTG One of the best things to arrive in my inbox : a commission to paint Y’shtola. I loved each minute of the process. Thank you AD Stephanie Cheung. <3

happy valentine's day

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

Ugh, think I am coming down with something. Which is bad, as I've got an interview tomorrow, and money is real tight until next week, meaning I need to get out and do crap. Avoiding getting sick when you are stuck waiting around for food orders is really damn hard. Tight spces, no way to distance.

IT TOOK A YEAR SINCE SEEING THE DAWNTRAIL THANCRED TWEET BUT I FINALLY GOT TO THIS IS THANCRED

Gotta say, I'm loving this graphic. (Pulled from Lyz Lenz's newsletter, Men Yell at Me: open.substack.com/pub/lyz/p/wh...)

One wonders if the PSN outage is in fact directly related to Helldivers 2's first anniversary, or if it is indeed just really bad luck and timing. The world may never know...

Home economics, or life skills would probably be a bit better name now, as well as rhetoric, research, and critical thinking are probably the two biggest areas that need to be expanded in education. Knowing how to do shit around the house as well as dig through data? Good skills to have.

On the other hand, the problem with so much information is it's very easy to find content out there that conforms to what you think is true in the world. I think we really do need to teach research and critical thinking as more important parts of the education process.

Talking with Mom today while I was taking her to the doctor, and once again we muse on how we got by before we had the some total of collective human knowledge in our pockets available 24/7. Cell phones and the internet are a hell of a thing.

Have hope for a couple prospects for jobs in the next week or so. Hoping this unemployment odyssey will be over soon.

Since more and more instances are popping up of terrible men using autism as a scapegoat for their behavior, I’d like to link an article I made for the Nib in 2018. I hate that its continued to be relevant today thenib.com/james-damore...

For so many reasons. (Reposting with alt text.)

Probably would be better to frame this as 'I hope no one suffered' but I can understand the sentiment. Horrible situation all around.

Can’t believe ffxv is almost 10 years old #art #ffxv

yaaaay so like all 14 of my currently active library applications are totally dumpstered at this point, 'cause ain't no hiring gonna be happening yaaay yaaay (Let me not mention the humourous part that 4 of those applications have been on the books and active since 2017.)

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH** * Currently paused by Executive Order ** Grant reviews now all canceled www.kcur.org/news/2025-01...

As much as it hurts not being able to get out and get money doing gig work tonight, I can tell its going to be a nightmare out there in Houston. Lots of snow melting, but once the temperature drops its all going to turn to ice. Crazy driving conditions. Hoping things will dry by Wednesday.
