Heh, yeah, that soldering job was scary though. The cheap ass iron I got took forever to get though 22 year old solder and I was just super worried about damaging parts. I understand why they moved away from that switch though. If it's in your pocket it picks up a lot of grime

We all are. XD I've spent the last month fixing up a GBA SP that was once my life line for sanity working retail. Reshelled it, modded the screen to a fancy LCD, had to solder open the power switch to clean it up. Then replaced the LCDs in a fat 1st gen DS and digitizer. All for retro gaming.

good luck to you! I have a friend that is fretting over getting a copy as well as they missed out. I totally understand the desire to have physical in this current era of gaming. I never got to finish silver star story so I'm very excited to have a chance again to play an old school RPG.

as a secondary note. I was bleary eyed at 5:30AM central time when youtube showed an icon on my feed where I went "Wait when was that coming out?" and quickly ordered it and got it saturday. I haven't had a chance to sit down with it. Still trying to finish Metroid Dread before I start another game.

I just got home from watching it. Was an hour long drive to Cedar Rapids, but was interesting to finally see this movie not only uncensored, but with full context. There was so much I'd forgotten about this movie. Now I just need to catch up on the novels with my massive backlog

I watched it played by a kid in my neighborhood when I was 6-7 years old. He was older and was using hand drawn maps with notes, constantly pausing the game and tracing his steps. The original metroid is from another era much like the original Zelda. It is not designed with player time in mind.

haha. XD I admit I picked up a lot of random adult only stuff because of random discounts and clearance sales. XD I ended up dumping all my VHS years ago. Just couldn't keep dragging them with me with how much I was moving. Most of them I replaced with Blu-ray and DVD's in the end. XD

Ah no worries then. I still need to finish it. One of the summon unlocks has been a brick wall for me and I refuse to go any further without finishing it, but my ability to not get hit is... Well garbage. No real cheese strat either. Just need to get gud with Yuffie or Barrett.

Yeah, it's far more complex and simple then it seems. The steam (GoG likely as well) gives you a trainer that will just max out basic magic draws on your characters so you don't need to farm for hours. Not sure was the remaster did.

I skipped from FF1 (never beat it as a kid) to FF7 and I love the industrial punk feel. XD FF8 is worth another go if you feel up to it. I played it again as an adult and it holds up, and adult me was way smarter than kid me on the junction system.

I will say to pace yourself with Rebirth. the minigames and collectable stuff started to burn me out as I wanted to do it all, but I always wanted more story. Intergrade(remake) was everything I had hoped for. I'm still crap at the combat, but I've always been bad at block/dodge/timing systems.

oh wow Future Cop LAPD is on that list too. I want all of that to be preserved and allowed for purchase. I really want to play MM legends and I never got to play the second one.
