Outfit and pins for the day, on my way to the @irishkidsbooks.bsky.social first ever Symposium! #DIKBSymposium25

Hi, yeah, I'd like to cancel my subscription to insomnia please, it's ruining my life

Went outside for 15 minutes. Won't make that mistake again

OisΓn has written an excellent piece about the state of the arts in Ireland, and highlighting how badly we need the BIA scheme to continue. 1/2

Wrote 800 words today, time to reward myself with 5 hours of disco elysium

Poetry Comics by @grantdraws.bsky.social ( @chroniclebooks.bsky.social) What a gorgeous gem of a book! Merging poetry and comics together to create rich storytelling.

Every year when the leaving cert rolls around, I see people sharing stories about how it doesn't matter in the long run, and just to do your best I got a C in English, which was my fav subject and was a huge disappointment. I've a book out next year. It doesn't matter, just do your best, truly.

Have some time to kill in the airport so time for some personalised book recommendations for the young readers in your life / a bookish Ask Me Anything For book recs: tell me their age (0-18 yrs) and interests and I'll share a book I think they'll enjoy

Travelling from Ireland to Brighton for a live performance of Call of Cthulhu by @chaosium.bsky.social was entirely worth it just to see @jcvim.bsky.social take on the role of French-Irish antiques dealer Celine Γ“'LeighLeigh and alternate between two very different accents

Kel is a wonderfully talented author and they gave such fascinating insights into their writing process. Check out my interview with them below πŸ’œ

The Basic Income of the Arts scheme is a transformative programme and, being frank, is one of the very few glimmers of hope that being an artist in Ireland is feasible and not just a pipe dream. I can't express how badly I hope this continues, how badly it is needed

This is massive news. There was so much data gathered and it's clear this scheme is necessary, especially for those who fell inbetween the cracks of AC funding. For the next round let's ensure it allows people to access funding without sacrificing their disability supports, a major flaw last time.

This week was filled with book events, friendly faces, lovely chats, and just nice times. The Irish book community are really something special I think πŸ“š

Giving book recommendations on social media is always fun, but nothing beats the big grins you get when you share the perfect book with a young reader face to face πŸ“š

Man, herons are so cool

Had such a lovely time at the @littleislandbooks.bsky.social showcase this evening. Getting sneak peeks at some very exciting books and chats with kind book folk, a good good evening

I love reading dedications in books and hearing the stories behind them! Authors and illustrators, would you please share your book dedications and the story behind who it is for? πŸ“š

I'm giving a talk in a few months to some children's publishing and bookselling bods. If you could say one thing to a capitive audience of publishers and booksellers, what would YOU say? #KidLitUK (Dm me if it's something you'd rather not say out loud...)

I'm nothing if not consistent πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ
