I've never understood why instability in a career in the arts is just normalised. Frankly it's exhausting, and hinders any growth in artistic practise and innovation. OisΓn writes it better than I ever could. If you're an artist in Ireland, I strongly recommend you read this.

I love this book. It's so unique and really inventive. I'd recommend it to all comic lovers, poets, and dreams, 8+ years
Thanks to @sarahwebbwriter.bsky.social for the recommendation!

The poems are really strong and could easily stand on their own, but the illustrations lift them to a whole new level. This book has some really clever panel work, and the more abstract illustration style to accompany more introspective poems is just perfection.

Each chapter is divided by the seasons, filled with short and sweet poems and energetic illustrations. Inside you'll find musings on best friends, school life, nature, writing poetry and finding yourself.

I'm really passionate about both of these forms of writing and it makes a whole lot of sense to combine them together. They're truly compatible and meet to create something new and wonderful.

I know situations like these are complicated. The line between friends being occasionally hurtful and bullying is so difficult to determine at that age. I hope that these books help her feel more at home in herself and trust that she's deserving of kindness and love.

Last one is more for 13+ years (there's a bit of kissing!). An autistic girl is friends with girls who aren't very nice to her (they're unaware she's autistic). It's all about her navigating tricky social circumstances, while also finding new friends who love and accept her for who she is.

A trio of girls begins to drift apart as one girl gets her first boyfriend. Then our MC discovers her first crush on a girl. The trio are all lovely kids in their own way, and any hurt they cause each other is primarily through miscommunication which they work through. A really lovely book, LGBTQIA+

An (initially undiagnosed) autistic girl gets bullied a lot and learns to stand her ground and not tolerate hurtful behaviour. Has a lovely close friend who supports her through thick and thin.

A girl is bullied relentlessly for her weight. She befriends a new neighbour who makes her feel comfortable in her skin (though can be quite abrasive at times too!). All about finding the right people who love and respect you for who you are.

Two best friends are starting to drift apart. Our MC is upset when her bestie unintentionally hurts her feelings / is distant. MC also lashes out in response. Ends with them being maybe not as close as before but understanding of each others differences and that's okay, they have other new friends.

Absolutely, any time. Always happy to help. Here are some books that kinda touch on this topic on verifying degrees, I'll let you decide what is the most applicable. Descriptions in the thread below.

I read through bits of the report this morning and it's simultaneously fascinating and not at all surprising regarding how successful it's been. Looking forward to reading the rest of it in full
