Good point, it hardly looks official. But they've heard of it so you'd hope they'll get onto it. www.rnz.co.nz/news/thedeta...

I think the least I can honour Efeso's memory is to at propose policy ideas within my own political party, under the un-catchy heading of "make poverty less expensive". And if I have to steal your ideas to do that, I'm OK with it.

Picking upon a phrase Efeso used... "it's expensive to be poor". This is true. Just one example, the way mobile phone charges for data per Mb are way way way more expensive if you can only afford $5 for more data. Can you suggest other examples? /8

Last night I watched Efeso's maiden speech in Parliament, delivered 6 days before he died. It gave me that same feeling as watching Drew lead his last worship service. It felt like his final, beautiful, devastating statement of strength and faith and hope and love /6

We discussed the words of a song Drew sang the day before he died in 2021, leading worship athis church in Wellington. This was Efeso's last message to me.. /5

I reconnected with Efeso by FB Messenger 2 yrs ago when our mutual friend Drew, who stayed with us at the Collin's home in 1998, and younger than both of us, also died very suddenly. Efeso had a big impact on Drew's life at a time when Drew needed it. It's so poignant to read those messages now /4

So it was incredible to see his physical transformation over the last few years, and what I now think was his inevitable emergence as a leader in every sense of the word, someone nearly everyone wanted to follow. His self-control, razor-like intelligence, his gift of eloquence, his deep compassion

So much about Efeso has been said by those who knew him so much better. But i recall his enormous personality from back then, he was BIG in every way, size, swagger, charisma, heart, and a wit that could nearly made me a pasty white guy nearly wet myself several times /2

I want followers from NZ to quietly reflect on all this. There's no one else in NZ from a "shithole country" doing a disinfo mahi, & thus able to say, with grounded evidence, & lived experience, that what women now face in NZ online is comparable to, & often even worse than the context back home.
