Can I suggest that if the next two weeks are not hell on earth for congress that the US will be back here within three months? You don’t have to march on Washington. 500 people can peacefully clog the roads where they live. A mariachi band can peacefully ensure they never sleep again.

Eight people in South Sudan, including five children, died on a three-hour walk to seek medical treatment for cholera after US aid cuts forced local health services to close, the UK-based charity Save the Children said reut.rs/3E9kB27

I hate that I’m back waking up and checking the stupidest man say the stupidest things while his even stupider outriders out-stupid each other to be named stupid sycophant of the day. It’s a global mushroom cloud of dumb.

This is brutal. The big question is, will they advertise or just leave this simmering on social. Would make a hell of a Fox News split screen.

A true heater 48 hours for The Onion, in my unbiased opinion.

Norfolk Island independence movement the big winner of the trade war

I have tariffed the penguins that are on Heard Island and which you were probably assuming did not export goods forgive me they were taking advantage of us so cunning and so cold

There is nothing good that comes from having a President of the United States who is gobsmackingly stupid, surrounded by obsequious courtiers and fellow morons. But the sooner we collectively acknowledge that truth, the sooner we can fix it.

This is literally the thinking at play. Utter moronity.

I was going to get the train today. But I am increasingly concerned at the deficit I’m running with Great Northern Rail. I buy a lot from them and they purchase nothing from me. Tempted to apply a 20% tariff. Sure my tickets will cost 20% more but it might mean I buy fewer and reduce the deficit.

It looks like they just fed their 'model' into a standard dataset to get the tariffs - hence they have ended up 'recognising' Taiwan and tariffing uninhabited islands. It looks like this is the dataset they used www.census.gov/foreign-trad.... And it's certainly the one ChatGPT links to ;)

The list of tariffs Trump is imposing includes the uninhabitable Heard and McDonald islands, where penguins and beetles have been hit with a 10% "reciprocal" tariff for their non-existent exports to the US. Stop helping insane people manufacture consent by using their language

One of many moments in Omar El Akkad’s new book, “One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This,” that will stop you in your tracks.

Not to be a wide-eyed naïf about such things but... am I right in thinking that they levelled an entire building to get to one guy and *that* is not controversial to anyone in the American media or political class, only that this information was recklessly shared in an unsecured chat?

the speed at which these guys have broken everything has given a lot of folks who should know better the impression that they are an unstoppable force and the only option is to negotiate the terms of surrender just because the clown car goes very fast does not mean it isn’t full of clowns

The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

These images really are something, aren't they? They remind me of that scene in the last Matrix film (of the three) when the streets are lined with many Agent Smith's and Neo is walking in the centre as a central figure. More of Ümit's work here: www.instagram.com/umitbektas/

Surprising to hear that a government formed exclusively of a country’s most stupid people isn’t really working out.

The NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER added the EDITOR OF THE ATLANTIC to a PRINCIPALS COMMITTEE TEXT CHAIN set up for the DEFENSE SECRETARY about PLANNED MILITARY STRIKES. Here's a thread of involved parties talking about the need for secure communications (when Dems are involved):

First he makes you cower, then he makes you crawl.

"On October 8, 1931, a law went into effect requiring every Italian university professor to sign an oath pledging their loyalty to the government of Benito Mussolini. Out of over 1,200 professors in the country, only 12 refused. All of them were immediately fired." www.chronicle.com/article/what...
