What the actual fuck...? I'm curious as to the reasoning behind the assault.

Cautiously optimistic here. As long as we're realistic as to what he's bringing to the table. Bottom six, who brings leadership, experience, and is a face-off specialist. Then as the season rolls along, we reassess his spot in the lineup.

I will say this, Bouchard had a point that he got called for a retaliatory penalty, and it didn't go the other way later. Even I was like "retaliatory, right?" And then it didn't happen

I don't have a problem with America, the leadership that a majority of them voted in... There's the problem.

There's a name I haven't seen in a while. I had... Medium hopes for him, shame it didn't work out. Young (at the time) speedster with a semi-decent shot, and a not small frame. Lol

Broken record time And I know this flies in the face of the fact that the current top line put up so many points this season.l But: KFC, Scheif, Fly UFA/homegrown, Vilardi, Fetts Easier to find a top six wing than a centre these days. Fly gets his top line opportunity, and Vilardi pivots. Thoughts?

I've always been a middle six type of guy. My favs on the Jets have been Kyle Wellwood Matty Perreault Adam Lowry To hear he wants to stay and be a lifer, warms my lil hockey heart

While I agree, it makes that kicking motion goal that much more annoying. Yeah, I'm still not over it.

Personally I think a little Hurricane hockey is necessary here. Go for quantity of shots, and when they're shell shocked, then find your quality snipe. And repeat. Lol

Wouldn't be surprised

Effn imagine!

I Love the guy, he's my goalie, but he's got a playoff monkey on his back. Too many flailing saves, he's playing way inside his crease, and he's getting beat on shots that are usually saves for him. He needs to put the team on his Helly-Back, and steal a few.
comment in response to post
I've been a Helly apologist, but he's got to get this playoff monkey off his back. The team in front of him is playing, and yeah, the goals aren't there, but every goal he lets in just saps the energy out of everybody. Big and boring is more like shook and (other team) scoring.
comment in response to post
Who's to say the outcome of the game afterward, but that goal shouldn't have counted in that instance. It's a bad look considering the rule that was very quickly found.
comment in response to post
If he's hurt in a way that's diminishing his play; he should sit or he should switch sports with AI.
comment in response to post
He's playing Rantanen like he played McDavid in the playoffs a few years back. He neutralized him pretty well, looks like it can work on different players, I approve.
comment in response to post
Side note: Fetts needs Stone Cold Steve Austin's music for goals now. "CAUSE STONE COLE 0:1.6 SAYS I JUST KICKED YOUR ASS! AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE, CAUSE STONE COLE SAYS SO!"
comment in response to post
Now that the celebration is done, it's back to the lab. Personally, if the Jets could play every game like the 2nd, 3rd, and x2 OT periods, they'll be world beaters. They flipped the script on the Blues and put the pressure on them, because of that we had the puck more and consequently more shots.

The reference and the pun!? Chef's kiss
comment in response to post
I mean, yeah, but we're also playing like steaming hot garbage, so...
comment in response to post
Throughout the season I've maintained that as long as you keep to your systems and happen to lose, I'm fine with that. Against these Blues, they're losing structure, and chasing the game. Fair play to the Blues But this is disappointing play by the Jets. Helly has to steal a game too, subpar.
comment in response to post
I mean, at least call them both. Make it less one sided. Lol

For every series. Officiating has been consistently inconsistent.
comment in response to post
Weak call, followed up by a non-call on Buch for hitting Pionk after the whistle...neat. Good officiating, top notch.
comment in response to post
Good no challenge, gotta clear him out earlier though. Make them pay for being in there.
comment in response to post
Remember when he was teased as a trade piece? Glad that didn't happen. Hope it doesn't happen in the future. The kid is a beauty.

Even on his offside with Schenn would be nice
comment in response to post
I'm torn, you can go with what has worked all season, on the top line, moving AI down. Or hear me out, you keep the top line as is, they've been getting points. Move Gabe to centre the second line, with Fetts and Vlad Nino reunites with Apples and Lows Pushing Tanev to 4th line, with Bear and JAD

KFC - Scheif - Vilardi Perfetti - Vladdy- AI Apples - Lows - Nino Tanev - Barron - JAD Or KFC - Scheif - AI Vladdy - Vilardi - Perfetti Apples - Lows - Nino Tanev - Barron - JAD Mo - Smoke Samby - Pionk Miller - Schenn (yeah, offside for Miller but we need that shot) Helly Comrie
comment in response to post
Vilardi will help Get more bodies in the crease Make the Blues pay for being in our crease PP1 shoot more If you're going to block a shot, block the shot Those are small adjustments they can make, but don't change the defense first mentality that got us here Oh and, blue collar it, don't play cute
comment in response to post
I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't the way we lost these two games... ...And by that I mean... ...By a lot
comment in response to post
Dare I say, I think he would. He'd be that guy in the crease at the right time to get us those goals. Suddenly we're not chasing the game. #wishfulthinking
comment in response to post
Most of those goals are because they're letting the Blues camp out in the crease. Firstly, don't let them do that, and second, if they are there, make it a very uncomfortable place to be. Also, Binner has let some rebounds hit the ice around him, and the Jets aren't there to grease it in.
comment in response to post
Personally I thought it should have, but I wasn't offended when they upheld the call on the ice. Now officiating (both ways) in general, not the greatest. I haven't complained about it all season, because it hasn't been bad, but the officiating during the playoffs, game management at its "finest".
comment in response to post
Firstly: I liked your post, not because of the content, but because you're a good dude, who deserves the engagement Secondly: now that we showed how not to play hockey, let's move on from this debacle, regroup, and re-engage for the next game.
comment in response to post
This has been the year when I finally got comfortable with Helly going to get/play the puck. Lately though... Not so much.
comment in response to post
"game management" has returned I see.
comment in response to post
Fix your defensive pairings, make those small changes that you do, but don't abandon how you play. If we lose this game, but we lose it playing our game, I'm fine with that, because in a seven game series, we come out on top, as long as we stick to our systems.
comment in response to post
There are three defenseman you don't want to see in the press box, Smoke is one of them.
comment in response to post
I don't mind the contract per se, RHD's are actually hard to come by, but I do think it was a bit of an overpay. In the two extensions he's gotten here, his play always rises during a contract year, and then begins to dip. I truly hope this doesn't tie our hands with Nik and Samby extensions.
comment in response to post
Man, I wish that was more the norm.
comment in response to post
What a weird trip they took us on. Overpassing on the 5 on 3 Out shooting the Ducks heavily in the first period. Wide shot after wide shot all game Shades of try Harding (which isn't how they play) Capped by a phenomenal defensive play and offense finish in ot. Frustrating to satisfying
comment in response to post
I will forever loathe "looking for the perfect pass" Blue collar city, Blue collar team, there were bodies in front of the net, fire the puck.
