I think Musk saying he sees empathy as a weakness honestly explains a lot about late-stage capitalism. you cannot gain that kinda wealth unless you have used other people as means to your ends, and most human beings instinctively cannot do that! To be a good capitalist is to cauterize your empathy.

I am the red x and my family are other x’s. Times like this I worry about my family & my house of course but worry about our local frogs, birds and bandicoots more. Already getting windy, 48 hours until the peak for our house. #southerndownsqld #cyclonealfred

The velvet weeds are all going to seed which means we have a constant stream of gorgeous red rump parrot couples visiting. Taken on a phone camera through a dirty kitchen window. Times like this I wish I had a proper camera. And clean windows. #wildoz #southerndownsqld

Pretty rad looking fungi on my oak tree pot, no idea what it is #fungifriends #southerndownsqld

BREAKING: International terrorist Erik Prince gives away the entire game, admits that the dismantling of USAID was to provide a “demand signal” for “the private market,” e.g. Blackwater. Transnational organized crime, right out loud. Revolution will be necessary.

In 1923 Adolf Hitler incited an insurrection against the German government. He was tried, given a slap on the wrist, and became a convicted felon. Despite being treated charitably by the judge, Hitler claimed the trial was political persecution and successfully portrayed himself as a victim of /1

I can't comprehend that the same person who's spent four years implying Hansen is lying about accelerated warming due to reduced sulphur emissions... acknowledges that @DrJamesEHansen made 'one of the great predictions in the history of climate science'... on sulphur cooling:

We collectively haven’t been taking the plans laid out by Project 2025 seriously enough. They want to destroy NOAA so people won’t know that climate change is happening. It sounds stupid and alarmist if you haven’t been paying attention.

Moved to the country for the clean air, grow pesticide free food for my kid, for her to be connected to the land in a way most humans are not anymore. I gave up growing much food as the waves of pesticide drift from the local farms kill most things we try to grow. Disillusionment with a capital D.

North Dakota Republicans have introduced legislation to declare themselves a Christian nationalist state by “acknowledging the Kingship of Jesus Christ.” This is a direct challenge to the Constitution.

Sulphur emissions from shipping have kept the oceans and seas relatively cold. On May 1st 2025, 3 months from today, sulphur emissions over the Mediterranean Sea will be reduced by another 80%. How will that impact the regional climate?

I’ve been waiting for this. They were never going to tank the economy by deporting people. They will make slavery great again.

Donald Trump has denied security details for four men who worked for him. It's a decision that could have deadly consequences, @radiofreetom.bsky.social writes:

Considering our one acre is located in temperate grassland I was surprised we have so many frogs. 7 types of frogs that I have seen and two that I have identified by calls but not seen yet (through the frog ID app). Here: spotted marsh frog, bleating tree frog and eastern banjo frog (pobblebonk).

Places I go to escape the insanity of politics right now: My yard/garden, my wildoz list/the wildoz hastag, my evening frog spotting missions.

Bought mountain acerage end of summer Feb 2023. Planted 18 trees our 1st spring. 1 pecan relocated after localised/seasonal yard flooding at the start of 2024. The start to 2025 was wetter than the start to 2024. Another pecan flooded but not for long. The lowest part we call ‘the swimming pool’.

Bloody hell, Richard Flanagan is good. Beautifully written, but expertly skewered.

I feel best when the ratio of clothing/tire microplastics in my circulatory system is 3……assuming it is garnished with PFAS. 🫤 www.thecooldown.com/outdoors/tir...

Dr Tom Montgomery 👇👇👇😪 “In the course of my work, I’ve seen permafrost thaw, monkeys dropping dead from trees, river dolphins cooked & penguins dying in Patagonian heat. Now, here at home, fires rage & kill as we debate if CC is real, like 5yr olds discussing Santa.”

The visibility of this tweet is very important m🙏. Unfortunately, my illness did not end at the end of the year. So I have to deal with survival and treatment - please RT🥺. Whether I have enough money to finish my fight against cancer depends on the visibility of the tweet.🙏

Bushfires are devastating on so many levels. You remember that stuff forever. I still get physical goosebumps talking about Canberra 2003. 2020 was heartbreaking. Really feel for the people of California today. This song is too true today youtu.be/BxoD9zWY9Rg

oh my god. this story. Pulitzer worthy.
