I’m kinda blown away by all these TikToks of people showing up to Republican reps’ town halls & letting them have it over Musk/Trump/DOGE. It seems grassroots. If it becomes a lasting trend to go to town halls, shout down people who are lying to you, and post it online, we might all survive this.

I don't want my taxes lowered. I want them to pay for things. I'm buying services from the government for me and for everyone else. In fact, I'd like to buy more services! Health care, perhaps, would be nice. Taking over the store and then removing everything from the shelves isn't good business.

Is it possible that dictatorship is the optimal organizational structure for small communities? It's the most common. Dictators dictate the rules, vibe, and content of the community and are able to flexibly enforce them. Only works if the the communities are plentiful and diverse, though Still.

So, most spaces have rules that go something like "Always be respectful. If things get heated, take a step back and take a break" kind of thing. there's a belief that this is a phenomena of internet text-based speech. This is a thread about why that's wrong and how this rule misses the point.
