What I was in Middle and High school, we had mandatory over the summer reading. We did school activities based on what we read over the summer when we came back to school. In high school, every single book on the list was also on the list of banned books. 2 Required. Still love that 15 yrs later.

one of the core ideas that needs to be taught to teens that gets completely missed is the difference between following the rules and doing the right thing.Sometimes the right thing to do is to actually break the rule: weighing the odds between subordination and penalty.
