From Canadian media, I remember hearing that USMCA covers around 95% of trade, so once again more exaggeration from Trump to protect his ego

The next US administration will hopefully cancel this extortion deal

Every time an American says things like this it strengthens the Canadian resolve to not support anything American whatsoever, to buy nothing from our friend turned enemy, and to focus on other allies instead. This only hurts America.

Yes, that’s also a big issue in Canada. America’s inability to enact any gun control leads to smuggling into our countries. America is a danger to its neighbours in many ways. Plus 10x as many drugs come into Canada via the US vs. the other way around.

I don’t think Americans realize how much this hurts Canadians on an emotional level and how much anti-American sentiment this has kicked up in people who felt much more of a kinship a few weeks ago. Dangerous times for all of us but even more dangerous for America’s global standing.

In many ways, I’ve never seen us more united. We can come out stronger despite how much this will hurt.

Yes, this only works once and then the US will no longer be trusted in any future agreements. Countries will learn to navigate around the US and American power will decline. Overall, this is a positive thing for the rest of the world.

Due to the number of bots on Twitter, it’s not wise to take anything said at face value or to even believe it’s emanating from actual Canadians.
