If they determined these games by having the ref flip a coin, the points would still matter! But it wouldn't say anything about how good the team is or even how well they played.
They played well enough to earn 1 point and then the other point is randomly assigned.

Sure but all those games are ties in my view. A team with 15 ties isn't amazing but not as bad people make it out to be because of the OT losses
