Most folks do not understand how far in advance the planning and logistics of NIH grants take. We prepare for months or years for these submissions for one of 3 cycles per year. This study section cancellation delays grants by at least 6 months when study sections are cancelled.

The building ripped from the Santa Cruz wharf has washed to shore near the river mouth. My Cal Fire friend has said that people are okay. But the Coast Guard is still in the water looking for people It sounds like this was part of the wharf that was already damaged and closed off. (Not confirmed)
