Reached the cry in a dark room phase of the week. The impact on loved ones, students, & staff broke me today. The stories of fear, student self harm ideations, anxiety, tears…then seeing people taking joy in the cruelty was too much today. Gonna disappear tonight & jump back in the fight tomorrow.

Bear with me on the long post ahead... Woke up pissed, scared, sad, numb, and worried this morning. It is the day I have been trying to convince myself wouldn’t happen or that there was some miracle that could prevent this impending disaster for so many families, children, and so many others.

Seeing many stories on the edu socials centered on Christmas. Had a convo w/ a few of our Muslim students needing a pep talk. What came out was how hard this time is for them b/c of all the Christmas stuff people talk about. Please pause before putting that elf on your classroom shelf next year.
