Amen to that.

Latest in Andrew McCarthy series: Trump appointed his own defense lawyers to DoJ. Start with lawyers' continuing obligation to former clients to avoid taking positions adverse to their interests, add in the likely investigation of the DoJ lawyers who went after Trump, and it's conflict city.

Pam Bondi Covers Up Foreign Influence Peddling and Lying to the FBI www.emptywheel.net/2025/02/22/p...

This who say defying Trump is dangerous are...both pathetic and dangerously wrong. Knuckling under is the danger.

The threat is also a reminder that Trump has taken over the GOP, but has not interest in the party beyond its usefulness to him and his cult of personality. This makes the stoogeification of the party all the more pathetic.

!! Judge Dale Ho appoints conservative legal superstar Paul Clement to present arguments on Judge Ho's options on whether and how to dismiss the Eric Adams indictment storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

To explain: Judge Ho has said, "I'm canceling the trial for now, eliminating one thing DOJ was complaining about, and instead I've asked a super conservative judge who can argue this to SCOTUS successfully to argue against the govt for me." Brilliant move.

Judge Dale Ho coming through, appoints Paul Clement to argue against DOJ’s motion to dismiss the Adams case.

Let me say this again: walk away. Stop attending their briefings and tell viewers and readers why. Explain how press accessibility is being curtailed. Stop playing their game.

Firing all of the JAGs (Judge Advocates General)—the top lawyers in each service branch—is just as bad as, if not worse than, firing (most of) the Joint Chiefs.

What if trump nominating JD Vance as VP was actually a checkmate against the Cabinet ever invoking the 25th Amendment?

@accountableorg.bsky.social very good, now I ask you to file one against Alex Spiro when it is proper to do so as his part in this bad faith attempt to corruptly dismiss this case warrants a bar investigation as well.

Watchdog group @accountableorg.bsky.social filed a bar complaint w/ the Attorney Grievance Committee in NY, requesting an investigation into whether Emil Bove violated any professional conduct or ethics rules in his efforts to dismiss the Adams case at SDNY. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

Hi smol hooman just checking on u

here is the thing about the “argument” that democrats should have run roughshod over the law when they had the chance: it is much easier to break the law to destroy a program than break the law to create one.

The ‘real’ reason they are gutting the IRS…👇 Are you paying ATTENTION, yet?!

Masterstroke by Judge Ho. Brilliant.

Why I'm glad Judge Dale Ho appointed an amicus curiae in the Eric Adams case today: www.muellershewrote.com/p/judge-dale...

“As the clock ticks toward the scheduled 2 p.m. start time, Bove’s solitary presence at the prosecution table is both conspicuous and telling. ‘Is he really going to do this alone?’ I hear someone in the gallery wonder aloud. He is, as it turns out.” www.lawfaremedia.org/article/a-lo...

This letter is a remarkable combination of stupid and ominous.

YES! We have an amicus appointed by the judge in the case to dismiss the charges against Eric Adams. Basically, if neither party opposes, the court appoints someone to fight the other side. They did this in the Flynn case as well.

A measure of the mood at City Hall.

Agreed. Great decision by Judge Ho. And it doesn't get any better than Paul Clement.

This is such a savvy move by Judge Ho. It’s not just that Clement has impeccable (conservative) credentials; he was the Solicitor General from 2004–08, and even Acting AG briefly, so he can participate with quite a bit of perspective as to the proper role of the Department of Justice.

Judge Ho's decision to appoint Paul Clement as a "friend of the court," was brilliant. As I stated yesterday, there is a solid circumstantial evidence case that dismissal of the meritorious indictment w/o prejudice would be clearly contrary to the public interest evidence given Bove's"bad faith. "
