Tech, golf, and video games always. Music, fountain pens, baseball, cars, stocks, streams and rants sometimes. I prefer being in the arena to being a critic. My opinions are mine alone. I do NOT believe empathy is a sin.

We don't fit into that box and I can confirm for you that finding folks to associate with who do NOT fit into that box is damn near impossible, if not outright impossible (we were unsuccessful). It was... enlightening... to say the least.

I have the same daily driver pen (well at least the nib), I had now idea it could double as a throwing star. Good to know! Glad your pen is ok!

Great pen and ink. Nice handwriting! And that song hit SO hard the first time I heard it. Good stuff!

I've heard of Goat Yoga where the cute little critters walk all over people while they're doing poses. Demonic Yoga sounds WAY more entertaining to watch.

The combination of tech (low cost distribution) and the psychology of addiction (we know how to "hook" people) has really made an ideal playground for some pretty skeezy people!

Large companies are trying like hell to commoditize game formulas. Meanwhile a pretty substantial subset of people who pay for games are demanding they remain a form of art. Super interesting dynamics at play in that market right now.

Psychedelic Rock. But really it's Jazz + Rock + Funk + Jam + Prog, so at the end of the day maybe just call it Fusion I guess?
I'd happily stage them with anything from Umphrey's McGee to Snarky Puppy, Lettuce to Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Galactic to Big Gigantic. Great genre-bending music.

These guys are fun and prolific. I love how they're pushing the genre forward unapologetically.

I was a musician for a while and have been a software dev for a long time. The amount of "Do it for exposure" freeloading jerks out there is TOO DAMN HIGH.

I've always referred to living in Alabama (esp Birmingham) as being "in the arena." We don't get to shy away from some of the tougher issues, but what better place to create change? It can be frustrating, but I think the fight is worth it.

Nice! Living in this area is living "in the arena" and the more wonderful, caring folks we can have here the better!

Anyone who disagrees with "[accomplishment] is driven by [lizard part of the human brain]" is kind of saying something their understanding of the human condition and what it takes to accomplish "big" things. OF COURSE it's about sex and fear... ain't it all?

I'm just glad you're over here. I have too few awesome local AND vocal folks I get to follow and hear from. Keep it up!

I found Disco Elysium transcendent. It applies nuance in unsettling and amazing ways. Using reductive terms to describe it (like so many do) reflects on a lack of depth from the player, not the game. An amazing piece of interactive art.
