Since this is only submitted (and under review) if you spot a missing reference (especially if it’s YOUR paper!) please let me or B know—we want to be as comprehensive & fair as possible. And, if you’re trying to wrap your head around the AGN Channel for the first time (or have a student you’re 6/

Get so uncertain past z~2 that it seems a bit pointless to even guess at the slope right now… Given that this is a review paper of (especially) the last 10years, and no human can keep up with the literature and also sleep, I’m sure we have cruelly neglected many beautiful & relevant papers—so! 5/

Increase with redshift up to the peak of AGN activity (for the relevant subset of AGN, which are probably not the most luminous AGN, for reasons we discuss). After that peak redshift (likely a bit short of z=2), the rate should fall, due to both the decrease in AGN & the smaller NSCs, but both 4/

(q-chi_eff, echo peaks from hierarchical mergers, etc) and then our ‘new’ result, the correlation of the merger rate density with redshift out to z~2, based on the evolution of the activity fraction, convolved with one model for the evolution of nuclear star clusters (NSCs)—basically it should 3/

This was a slightly weird assignment—a review paper that *also* presents a new result. So we tried to review The AGN Channel for BBH mergers—basically ’there are things in AGN disks, here’s some logical consequences of that’ including masses, spins, correlations between measured parameters 2/

Your mind can put you in a pit so black you don't even *want* to get better, you think you *deserve* to suffer. Friends, thats not true. I wouldn't wish depression on anyone. I promise you have people who love you, even if only found family. Drugs and therapy work, but you have to decide to get well

I know we all want to figure out the best strategy to have the most OPTIMAL VOTE but there’s really no trick here, every RCV expert I’ve ever talked to says: just rank in order of preference, and don’t rank someone you loathe. that’s it! www.thecity.nyc/2025/05/01/r...

I dealt with cuomo’s immediate team on a project once, and it was comically stupid. Veep stupid. And it was clear that the bad ideas were all coming from him and that they were all terrified of him.
