I always think Wesker is if you took all of the art out of Hannibal.

This is perfection.

So bizarre. All we can do is take comfort in the reality that one day, probably soon, the antis these loud people call friends will turn on them too. The cannibalism within extreme beliefs happens all the time.

I think overall, it’s a much more reasonable fandom - you can write pretty much anything and be encouraged to do worse, which I love. But I saw exactly what you’re talking about there too. The Hannigram antis seemed to be the younger fans, unfortunately.

It’s all part of the same cultural norms that determined it was totally fine for Hannibal Lecter to cut up a human leg with a deli saw, for consumption, on NBC primetime… but breasts or certain profanities are Not Okay. (No offense to the Hannibal fandom - I’m in it)

I have run into this double standard on the responses to my fics over the years. These are same people who will write/consume some pretty heavy non-con between male characters, but can’t handle the same with female characters. Somehow misogynists and misandrists all at once

Completely agree with this.

Loved your a/b/o Krashley. It was perfect.

I usually write/think of Wesker as the more flexible or experimental partner (with the exception of a couple stories where he’s completely unhinged and jealous). It is really fun that we all imagine these characters in such different ways

Oh you’re absolutely right. I have gotten so soft and sad in my old age, I don’t have the heart to write him like I used to, LOL. But you are very correct, he’s beyond any redemption. (crying quietly)

LOL. It was so long ago. But YES - Chris is all or nothing. My original OTP was a triad of Chris, Jill, and Wesker. But I couldn’t write that now, since I’ve dug pretty deeply into Chris characterization. Chris would never share anyone.

Piers is such a perfect foil for Wesker, maybe even better than Chris. He’s Truly Pure. So pure, he might change Wesker.

Someone gave me shit in the comments for that pairing. LOL. I should have stuck with it. Would love to take it a step further and include Chris, but I always write him as Very Possessive, so I couldn’t get my head around it.

I KNOOOOWWWW. And Piers would be so much better at taking direction. Wesker would see that intense desire to please and it would just ruin them both.
comment in response to post
I’ve always wanted to write a story in this vein. I started one. I love the idea of Wesker initially planning to use Piers as a weapon against Chris, but then finding himself in over his head, infatuated with Piers, who is Chris without so much baggage

Second all of this.

YES. I didn’t want to get too deep with that interpretation, in case it wasn’t your own, but YES. I would argue that he might even feel things more intensely than anyone else, and it’s all so humiliating for him. Love this characterization. 11/10 stars.

I loved what you said about him having to “punish” people he loves. That makes sense. It must piss him off so much to feel anything

Fluffy Wesker is an acquired taste. I do so love your cold asexual sadist Wesker. He’s pretty neat.

YES. It was a decent doc. There’s a few on Shudder I really loved. I don’t know if it’s still available there, but Room 237 was one of my most favorite horror docs ever

They really did. Andy’s mom!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I was surprised at all the musical chairs they played with directors/producers. Also, the original author looks so ridiculously young. He hasn’t aged at all, so crazy

Started a remote cabin Nivanfield fic over a decade ago, miss it to this day. Highly encourage the cottage AU.

Yeah, that’s just how I heard about that specific list, with that exact name.
comment in response to post
It was probably them - they were naming people in the Hannibal fandom and they all posted about it, so maybe the pressure and/or harassment convinced crabcakes it just wasn’t A Great Idea to put innocent people on a public call-out list
comment in response to post
If it was that crabcakes person, it looks like the list was removed.

He would absolutely love the Beastie Boys.

I never considered Chris and punk. That’s different. I think my problem is that I just give him as little depth as possible, LOL. He’s the basic and charming All-American guy (to me). But I got into the games early on, before his edgy phase.
comment in response to post
Yeah. He would have been in his late 20’s, I think. I always headcanon Chris as a sort of ska and grunge fan, which would have been in his in mid 20’s, too.

Depends on the band, but I think Wesker. He’s Depeche Mode-coded.

Omg, please always break every boundary and be super proud of it.

They 100% read it all, and probably loved it, and that made them upset because it doesn’t fit into their perfect vision of themselves, etc etc. So, attack the author.

People are such assholes. I’m sorry you have to deal with that, but I’m glad that what you’ve written is so visceral it’s affected them that much. I love how brave and experimental your work is, and even if it’s not my personal kink, it’s always a joy to read.

SO GOOD.

Boxing Helena was the inspiration for one of my/our most vile fics (it was co-written). It’s a clumsy movie too, like Angel Heart, but the concept is outrageous. I think you’d like it a lot.
comment in response to post
It’s pretty great, for sure. Along that same vein, loved “9 1/2 Weeks” and “Boxing Helena”. All born out of that decently budgeted surreal late 80’s/early 90’s drama era. “The Passion of Darkly Noon” too.

I watched it after Bryan Fuller said his concept of Hannibal season 4 would be based on it. I thought the premise was really interesting, the execution was lacking. Mickey Rourke is such an underrated actor. He chose such bizarre and sexy films to lead in the 80’s.
