The relation between Jews and whiteness is a complex one but it’s almost never helpful to collapse it that way without qualification. And antisemitism has not been primarily religious prejudice for at least 90 years (if it ever was)

I mostly agree with you, but there is a broader tendency on the left to characterise Jewish people as white and (worse still) antisemitism as religious discrimination

Excited to read this. I think there’s a real need for better research on detransition

It’s a real issue. I wonder if we need to start putting ‘at time of writing’ in front of every claim we make. Journal word counts will need to grow to accommodate the impact publication timelines…

Precarity is a relational condition: people aren't simply 'precarious' but they are *made* precarious e.g. by marginalisation due to gender, bullying and harassment or disability. Above all, institutions make us precarious, and that condition has now been more widely generalised

I’ve been thinking a lot abt how we as a society fixate on the ends of things & how this helps enable fascist tactics & acceleration. We come to expect things to deteriorate & collapse.
In the coming months, it will be more important than ever to live in spaces of beginning, creation, & liberation.

Thanks! I had fun writing them. I don’t see why a succinct description has to be dry :)

For me it’s a lecture or talk on an unfamiliar topic that I didn’t know I had to give. Often delivered in impossible situations like a burning building or a flood

Also, that killing a single person directly won’t produce the same outrage if you happen to be a cop, or the victim is an unhoused person (or black or trans or disabled or a refugee)
