Just incredible

Last day at my job at the National Trust today. Bit sad.

That just floored me. Such amazing words.

At this juncture I’d like to point out: * we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing * there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world * a united approach could stop the climate crisis But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

Trying to write a CV personal statement for a job I really want and I think it would be less painful to poke needles in my eyes

My new workshop:small museums for mental health, is now live. I'll teach you how creating small museums alters brain biochemistry to improve mental health & we'll make small museums together 24 May,zoom, recording available afterwards Open to anyone, anywhere workshops.emmamitchell.uk/courses/smal...

Labour’s great nature sellout is the worst attack on England’s ecosystems I’ve seen in my lifetime | George Monbiot

If you *really* do have to write a 'dangerous cyclists!' opinion piece, at least try and manage the very basics, eg: • Cite evidence. Are people cycling more dangerously? • Learn the difference between an e-bike and an illegal electric motorbike. This really is lazy, dashed-off, half-arsed tripe.

Easter Sunday! And how Tradition works. By @nakedpastor.bsky.social

Employers (especially big charities) who want to increase diversity, but require working full-time and be in London 2+ days/week… are not ideal 😬 Yes I am job-hunting and yes it sucks. It would suck only slightly less if I didn’t live on the most expensive train line to London in the country.

The A level economist in the house complaining bitterly that the free trade module he's been taught - about how the US successfully uses trade to make friends/ bestride the global economy like a colossus etc - is going to look pretty stupid when rehashed for an exam in June 2025

Dartmoor and my favourite bench❤️

This is what roadside verges should look like in April. These are not weeds - they are wildflowers essential to the survival of early Spring bees.

No, your artificial lawn is not a "life hack". It's another tiny nail in the planet's coffin.

I’ve been loving the Merlin bird ID app, but it’s made me realise that bird watching is basically Pokemon Go for grown-ups. My kids aren’t quite convinced. But I reckon if @rspb.bsky.social could come up with some sort of bird song x Pokemon app mash-up we might be on to a winner…?

Excellently niche work here, by which I mean only people who grew up in Devon in the 1980s will understand

Garden cherry blossom tree looking rather frou-frou today

Can’t even make their own MAGAhats

Three massive costs the UK could cut - if we back nature-friendly farming.   Let’s talk about the billions we’re wasting, and how investing in nature is the smarter choice.   A thread... 🧵

Can’t beat a bit of last-minute pine marten quiz drama to start the working day

If I’m being honest, I’m feeling pretty down about my small business. I’m working so hard but it’s been very quiet. It’s bloody difficult at the moment. Please have a look at what I do and repost to spread the word. www.gailmyerscough.co.uk

Why are we not calling this the Trump Slump?? Still so much deference to someone who is single-handedly tanking the global economy.

Made it to 20 years today with the excellent @rosswintle.uk. Same as Charles and Camilla. Bet their card wasn’t as good as this one.

The blossom really is bloody beautiful this year isn’t it? This is some fabulous magnolias framing the bandstand at Town Gardens, and some lovely branches poking over my neighbours’ fence today

I did this workshop with Emma a couple of years ago when I was deep in my own personal gloom, and it was wonderful.

My May botanical illustration & mental health w'shop's now full but still space on 14 June. So, mid-life job-hunting is a pretty depressing experience eh?
