"Why not take a break? You can pause the game by pressing +." — Wii Sports (2006 AD)

I'm all about that PlayStation engineering drawing life

An important read for the games industry. We must absolutely understand and acknowledge this as it has gone on for far too long. www.theguardian.com/games/2025/m...

I absolutely loved this little game.

Now this looks delightful.

This is going to be absolutely mad and I am excited. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT_A...

I've had parts of this written down for a while - but I thought it was about time to document the detailed version of what happened during Balatro development localthunk.com/blog/balatro...

I asked ChatGPT (4o) "how much of brand management and other areas of marketing will be replaced by #AI agents?" Here are the screenshots of what it told me. What do others in #marketing and #brand think of this? 1/2

I see debates about whether a film has the right to not be subtle (in this case, Mickey 17 and The Substance), while for six years I've had people who don't understand the messages conveyed by SW, Starship Troopers, Star Trek... Subtlety or lack of it is just a choice, it's the result that counts.

Just look at those reviews! Split Fiction for GOTY?

I am so incredibly happy for the Hazelight and EA Originals teams. Congratulations to an incredibly talented studio who just keep knocking it out the park.

A lovely little Supes story. Read to the end.

👏👏👏👏

Great initiative by EA! The source code for #CommandandConquer is now up on @github.com. www.reddit.com/r/commandand...

If you want to understand what is happening on the business side of the games industry, this is a must listen: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/k...

Split Fiction was the last game I was working on before leaving EA. Hazelight have made something special. Working with Josef and his whole team on this and It Takes Two will forever be a career highlight.

SEGA World London was a real treat. We need arcades like that again. Still miss SEGA World Southampton that managed to hang around well beyond most arcades.

This is great advice. Being able to remain disciplined enough to keep that consistency is the hard part.

A note for those ‘hoping for a crash’ in the games industry due to frustrations with big business leadership. A crash would likely wipe out the majority of your favourite developers who would then walk away from the industry. It is not the solution. New leadership and better business practices is.

Yes it would.

Something to keep in mind for 2025 Written by James Miller of A Small Fiction

The Nintendo Music streaming app is the best music streaming app out there and I will hear no different.

But as marketers can we really rely on X to provide truthful data? I’d be incredibly hesitant to spend any money/time there given…well everything.

2000s had a design language for gadgets that just looks so much cooler than what we have now.

Movies you watched more than six times, using only GIFs.

Balatro launched one year ago today I often say I made this game for myself and friends, but seeing so many people connect with Balatro has filled this past year with joy. Thank you players, your love and support have kept Balatro thriving! I appreciate you all naneinf! 🍌

Yes please!

This.

i love the comments on the youtube of this. dozens of Japanese people in their 30s-50s, in total shock to see the new animation and the original cast. some are vaguely aware of Samurai Pizza Cats; others are like "is this a miracle?? why this, why now???"

One of those images that is just seared into my memory.

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

It’s a peaceful life. www.theguardian.com/games/2025/f...
