A few of my favorite Wisconsin nature pics for #EarthDay

Happy Earth Day! Did you know Earth Day started in Wisconsin in 1970 after Senator Gaylord Nelson was fed up with the increasing amount of polluted air and water? It’s up to us to keep our planet healthy and clean for us and generations to come.

Rain and embedded storms are quickly moving into SE WI. Gusty winds may accompany this rain. Stronger wind gusts of 35-40 mph return tomorrow 🙃

Found my new favorite supper club 🌪️

Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for southern Waukesha and Milwaukee counties and northern Racine county until 3:45pm for quarter sized hail.

Fast moving storms are developing and have the potential for quarter sized hail, which prompted this warning.

Two left lanes on I-41 SB near Burleigh are currently closed due to flooding. Additional flooding is being reported across Milwaukee county.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the Milwaukee metro. A couple inches of rain have fallen in a very short amount of time. Avoid any flooded roads!

Pea sized hail in Fox Point right now.

Round two incoming ⛈️

Severe hail potential in this second line is diminishing 🙌🏻

The storm producing the very large hail is moving over the lake, but another line of strong to severe storms is quickly moving in behind it. Largest hail potential in this round currently looks like half dollar sized.

Largest hail potential is heading towards New Berlin followed by West Allis and Tosa.

Oof that sky is green. Hail is imminent, MKE.

New Severe Thunderstorm Warning includes all of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, and Ozaukee counties until 8:15am. This storm continues to drop ping pong to baseball sized hail. Move your car into a garage while you can!

Baseball sized hail confirmed.

The cell over Edgerton heading for the Fort Atkinson to Whitewater area has the best potential to produce baseball sized hail.

At 6:45 AM CDT, 4 SW Brooklyn [Green Co, WI] Public reports Hail of baseball size (M2.75 Inch). Measuring Baseball sized hail as of 6:45 with very gusty winds as well. #wiwx Link

You’re up next, Jefferson county! This nasty storm has a history of producing hail between golf ball to baseball size. Southern Dodge, Washington, and Waukesha counties are also in the path of this storm.

Madison! Get your cars under some sort of shelter while you can! This nasty storm moving in has a history of dropping egg sized hail.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 11am. Destructive hail and wind gusts up to 70mph are the concerns with the incoming storms.

A cluster of severe storms is sprinting east at 60 mph this morning and has the potential to produce hail up to the size of ping pong balls. These storms will reach the metro during rush hour.

It's actually wild. There's literally no mention of why Jackie Robinson is important in the MLB press release. At all. Just that he "played his first Major League game on April 15, 1947."

Happy 414 Day to the best city in the world. I love you, MKE❣️

My soul is craving a sunny 70° day.

So to summarize today's news that I've seen: • Catastrophic cuts to NASA • Catastrophic cuts to NOAA • A legal U.S. resident (Khalil), who is not charged with any crimes, is set to be deported over his views • The U.S. dollar is undergoing a process of "rapid de-dollarization"

After having the worst run differential in the league through the first 4 games of the season (-32), the Brewers now have a positive run differential.

Today’s a good day to remember that outdoor tornado sirens are NOT meant to be heard indoors. This is why it’s important to have a way to receive alerts on your phone (a weather radio works great too!) FEMA’s app, along with local tv station weather apps, will send you warnings.

Reminder for Wisconsinites 👇🏻

STATEWIDE TORNADO DRILL THURSDAY. Don’t be surprised if you hear tornado sirens at 1:45pm and 6:45pm tomorrow! (not all communities will activate the sirens) Use this as an opportunity to go over/practice your tornado and severe weather safety plans with family, friends, and coworkers.

Mother Nature heard us complaining about the snow on Monday and decided to punish us with cold rain AND slushy snow tomorrow afternoon-eve. Some slushy accumulation is possible. PM commute will be gross, but roads should mainly be wet with reduced visibility from time to time.

Weeeeeeeeee!!

An ideal quarter so far

A cold April day calls for Kawa ramen 🍜

While we revert back to winter for a couple of days, warmer weather is on the horizon! The extended outlooks favor warmer than normal temps next weekend into Easter weekend. Normal temps for this stretch of the year are 53-56°.

Ready or not, winter returns to start the work week 😞 Snow showers Monday will leave a coating on the grass. Then wind chills fall into the single digits and teens Tuesday morning. Woot.

Almost all NOAA Research websites that rely on cloud services - including Amazon, Google and WordPress - are poised to disappear at midnight ET Saturday after a contract was targeted for "early termination." Labs may also feel the effects. Story for @bloomberg.com (free link):

Radar indicated rotation on the storm west of Columbus has prompted a tornado warning. Rotation is tracking towards Fox Lake and NW side of Waupun.

S/O to the roof 👏🏻

Good amount of pea sized hail falling from the storm over Fox Point right now!

@lindseyslatertv.bsky.social @samkuffelwx.bsky.social Smaller than pea sized hail in SW Waukesha. @ 8:44am

Nice storm closing in on the MKE metro! Steady rain & embedded storms continue into early afternoon. After a bit of dry time, we’ll be watching for strong to severe storms between 4-8pm. Any breaks in the clouds will increase the risk for severe storms. More clouds = lower risk.

Great evening to be a Wisconsinite

We are so back
