I saw that Blank Check movie as a kid and my dad casually devastated me by having absolutely no comment on anything in the movie other than “that’s not how checks work”. What was I going to say back to him? I didn’t know how checks worked. We were all victims of ignorance.

the yanks offseason really only works if like three pretty big things break their way (Wells, Volpe, and Jasson being productive offensive players). Not getting a third baseman (i can't believe they really did it) makes the margin of error even smaller. Cashman/Hal roster construction is crazy

I don’t think FLOW, NO OTHER LAND, or ANORA win nearly as many Oscars pre-2016. It’s telling that the last 4/5 Palme winners have also been nominated for Best Picture, with two winning. International voters have totally changed the calculus.
