Was delighted to hear about "vibe coding" tools like Cursor on this episode, as I've no coding skills. I'd previously made noshowbus.ie with guidance from OpenAI. Thougt Cursor would be better, so asked it to build me something. It kept making mistakes so basic even I could spot them. Gave up.

I'm really interested in this question. I've written before about railroad bridge strikes, and there are so many potential solutions. I wonder what's been tried and what hasn't. Unfortunately I am tied up editing and doing admin these days so will try to get Michael Lanigan to look into it.

Haha, I love the idea of having pasta in the ethnic foods section. This reminded me to go check what Tesco actually counts as an "ethnic vegetable". There is only one, it seems.

Oh no, I'm not threatening you, they always say. But you have to recognise the profound level of financial risk you would be taking, and the relentlessness of litigation, and how it would grind you down, whether you win or lose, and decide whether you are willing to accept that. 2/

Also, if DCC varies LPT +15% it is very likely govt will reduce grants to DCC, resulting in little net gain of annual revenues. dublininquirer.com/2024/11/20/d...

I don't think LPT, even if increased to max by varying +15% instead of -15% would be nearly enough to cover this, under the current system. dublininquirer.com/2023/05/10/d...

The equalisation fund is gone now. dublininquirer.com/2023/05/10/d... But now if DCC raises "more than it needs" in LPT, govt reduces grants it gives DCC. dublininquirer.com/2024/11/20/d...

We've got a Detroit-style pizza place here recently. I'd never heard of it before having it here, but it's delicious!

Yes, we've had 22 applications so far, and the deadline is still a week away or so!

That is the most ridiculous spot, and the other day they were doing construction the other side of the street and put the orange signs warning about it smack in the middle of the cycle lane, which is in a forest of bollards, ending in a wall of bollards. All directly in front of a council office.
