Watching Michael Clayton, a thriller that feels so smart I'm surprised it got made. These days you have to do a similar thing inside Star Wars instead.

New episode! It's Monster Hunter Wilds day. Returning guest @2plus2isjoe.bsky.social joins us to share his thoughts on the game, as well as the history of the series. Listen wherever you get podcasts:

More licensed games based on old movies, please, they're just such winners.

Ultimates 10 is out next week. Warm your hands by the fire.

Refreshing to log on and realise you've missed a discourse. 😎

"If you were Dawn’s age, you related to her; if you were older, you felt, as Buffy did, protective of her. That was the magic of Michelle Trachtenberg"

That Rishi episode of Industry did live up to the hype, in fairness. Nice we got one good thing out of the Liz Truss economic crash (that and the lettuce).

Avowed now the MVP of the 'don't worry, we're here to make you not regret your pricey graphics card upgrade' crew.

Old as hell PC gamers pouring several ones out today

A year from now these same companies will be pouring money into new studios and struggling to recruit the expertise they need to make the projects they have to make because the knowledge was institutional.

With Half-Life 2 finished, I will now eat my vegetables (finish Opposing Force) before moving on to dessert (Episodes 1 and 2).

They earned it.

Finished the first volume of 20th Century Boys. That device of 'something bad happened when you were a kid but as a tired adult you've forgotten it and must figure it out before everything is fucked' is just a winner.

Blorko? Love that guy.

Really like this quote from Kepler Interactive's CEO, and think it shows in their games. Those same few influences being so pervasive is why a lot of pop culture seems infantilising. www.gamesindustry.biz/how-kepler-i...

*deep sigh* So it's come to this.

"It's like Games Workshop for your face." - me after a friend explained their 20-bottle skincare regime.

Season 3 way stronger. The Kit Harington CEO character is so well-observed. Also benefits from trimming down the cast a bit.

In my 'man of leisure' era.

Tempest Rising has gone to the top of Big Sammy's Most Wanted list. Out in April, heavily inspired by Command & Conquer. I'm all over this shit.

Love a video interview where I can see my face increasing in redness over the course of a call until I go full Question Time by the end.

And blimey, wait until you see the newsstand one. Out today!

Surprised Industry got a season 3 off the back of season 2. Feels like the season that gets a show cancelled – loses grip of the characters, especially Harper. Still very entertaining, but I feel like the Succession comparisons were a bit false.

I have finally finished the longest game of all time (Dynasty Warriors: Origins). On to the next 60 hour monster.

What I hate about this diet: it works. You just have to not mind feeling like you've been clubbed on the head for 48 hours a week.

Have Game Pass again for Avowed. What sold me: people saying it's basically a different game if you focus on magic powers over swords. Quite fancy that (and fantasy parkour).

I loved the first game, one of those classic Switch indies for me (before they all started running at about 15fps).
