(Pt 3) That said, we did get some really cool stuff out of that discussion. Projects like Mage the Victorian Age and Haunted West that actually look critically at the time period and explores the world beyond jolly old England.

(pt 2) though seriously, throughout its heyday there was a steadily growing discussion of how the genre really glorifies Victorian Endland and inadvertently white-washes over the atrocities of the British Empire. It didnt kill steampunk, but it did definitely put a damper on things...
