No politician is perfect, but I've been impressed with JB since his 2020 covid briefings. I'm thankful we have him right now.

That just means that current you has a chance to finish it for future you again this year!

I would love that! I've looked at tutorials before, but I still manage to mess it up

I get so confused every time I try to cable without a needle, and inevitably cross my stitches in the wrong direction. But you make it look so easy. I will have to try again because I hate cable needles so much.

These kinds of knitting are just little gifts for future me. She's going to love wearing it next year.

I'm pretty sure they use data like "showed up 15 minutes late but a day early" and "panic ignored email for weeks because of basic question" as a part of the diagnosis process. But that's just my theory. @doctorlesley.bsky.social can you confirm?
comment in response to post
When I decided to get tested, I got so stressed by having to write down my screen time data just on the pre-intake form that it took me WEEKS to respond to her email. And even then I just said I had to decline to answer that question but she could look at my phone at my appointment.

I'm going back and forth between 6 and 8 every few minutes
comment in response to post
Indeed it is. But I always get annoyed/sad when I have to frog a project
comment in response to post
Same. I'm kinda shocked that TikTok took this long to diagnose you. It clocked me within the first 2 weeks and I never even posted a video...

Thank you for this! I want to dust off my French, but regular French media is too fast for my tired old brain

@thestorygraph.com just realized you're here! Any suggestions on how I can add notes to my TBR? Or can I formally request this feature? ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Hmm, I'll have to see if I can separate my "currently reading" into things I'm actually reading and things I want to remember to read...

Oh this is such a pretty decrease. The pattern I use has a hole in the middle - I'm going to try this when I pick up dishcloths again in the summer!
comment in response to post
Thank you for sharing - I'm adding it to my list. (And I'm sorry you're getting yelled at about Amazon.)

I love the loop on these! Is it just an i-cord sewn to the cloth at the end?

I keep coming back to these and I think I fall a little more in love with them each time. Your work is truly stunning.

I'm also using coboo! I should have pulled something else from my stash, but I really wanted to try it - and I'm absolutely loving it

Absolutely. See also: scrolling for the perfect pattern on ravelry instead of scrolling...anywhere else on the Internet.

I've seen too many unprecedented times to be surprised at this point. I think the only thing that could surprise me would be a return to precedented times.

But...does anything really work the way it's actually supposed to here in the darkest timeline?
comment in response to post
Yeah, it's not that far off for me to size up, and with blocking it should definitely stretch to fit gauge. But it's going to be a very thin, slightly translucent sweater instead of a cozy one. I'll probably just call it a spring cardigan and pretend like this was the plan all along? ๐Ÿซ
comment in response to post
Just added it to my favorites! I've been nervous about top down socks, but I have no real reason other than only having made toe up before
comment in response to post
Turns out this is a worsted weight pattern. And I'm using fingering weight yarn. This is fine, right? I've already split for the sleeves. I'm not turning back now.
comment in response to post
I'm trying to branch out from vanilla socks this year - which pattern is your favorite? And do you have toe-up patterns?
comment in response to post
Dishcloths (and specifically this pattern) are the absolute best for learning knitting! Yours looks great. Maybe try going up a needle size next time to see if that helps your hands?
comment in response to post
And annoyed. I wish I could say I'm surprised. But I'm not.

1x1 rib definitely looks thin but should stretch to accommodate your whole hand. Make sure your cast on isn't too tight though. German twisted cast on is great for mittens, but I also frequently just use long tail.

I've used all of these apps over the years and I was drawn to them for different reasons. And inevitably when they try to become a different kind of space than why I was drawn there, I end up leaving.

FB = great for groups and local community information, and marketplace IG = great for photos and niche subgroups (I spent a few years as a tiny creator on yarnstagram) YouTube = perfect for longform content and informational video
