Since my foster kittens are making their way around the internet again, a reminder that YOU could become a foster, too! If you're in Houston, check out Rescued Pets Movement: rescuedpetsmovement.org/become-a-fos...

Nope! These two are destined for Colorado once they get over their little colds.

I pursue a life that is full of art, comedy, friends, food, animals, love, curiosity, music, sadness, anger, giggling, empathy, fear, weirdness, discomfort, color, atonality, hunger, care. I don’t know how I got this way, because I wasn’t raised this way.
Anyone can do it, if they want it.

Chad said his dad was watching Fox Business in the gym and they were talking about how the Israel-Iran conflict was actually good for American portfolios.

My sister works for the local cancer conglomerate and you’d be sick at what my mom confidently told her about medical research funding.

It seems very clearly that Fox News is pushing a drug and our parents are addicts. Is there a pill to interrupt this behavior. Do we need to put the boomers on some manner of methadone.

I would love to figure it out. How do we reverse the lead poisoning?

I would also suggest that the second your parents say they’re thinking of moving into a 55+ “community” that you remind them that nothing ages a person quite as quickly as being around the same old people who have the same old ideas as them.

This man and his second wife live in a wealthy 55+ community on a golf course outside of Denton. Chad went to the community gym with him this morning and every silver-haired white man was watching Fox on their treadmills. WHY? WHAT MADE THEM DO THIS TO THEMSELVES?

What is this compulsion to have a nonstop drip of political opinions filling the bucket of your very soul? Your one wild and precious life? Is there nothing else to fill it?

(When we talk about the Bluesky echo chamber, I do see it. I see a lot of people come into my mentions and are brain-dead with MSNBC clips and terrible AI slop of Trump as a chicken. But I digress.)

This is a peculiar thing that some people do: soothe themselves with news. Or “news,” as it were. Just a nonstop chatter of words, of information, of opinion, all so that they don’t have to seek information themselves or form their own opinions.

"Miller said the goal will be to fully remove harmful substances like heavy metals to ensure it's clean and safe. He added that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality would be responsible for regulating the process."

Side note: we went to Maven in Sawyer Yards and it was terrible. Do not recommend. I feel bad for everyone who works there. What a weird place.

It's for the best, I'm sure, because it's probably one of my friends. I don't need to know all that.
