Definitely a childhood book I still think of extremely often!

Definitely a rich part of good world-building. But only if they're good... No music/lyrics is better than bad ones.

Dammit I just looked at your dates... I'm moving that week + no venue is less than 2-3 hours from me.

My rule on owning the physical book is I only keep it if I'm going to reread it multiple times. Otherwise it's all library all the time.

I keep an ear to the ground on contemporary, but I'm much more into classics and backlists. I hardly buy any books but I hit the library every week for my holds.

I'm reading it aloud to my five-year-old and she's OBSESSED, it's so much fun!! I've already warned her we'll only read 2-3 now and wait for the later ones when she's older.

Several of those are on my TBR but I dearly love Piranesi. I'm about to do the annotate-and-exchange-a-book thing with a friend and I'm going to send her that one!

Because Bilbo was more worried about Thorin's soul and well-being, and thought Bard was more likely to keep all the Dwarves alive to grow to thrive again. Thorin was getting a bit nuts.

I might have been in a very different book mood at the time!

300-499 is a lot of what I read, but I'm never afraid of 600-1000+ if it's well written and I'm into the story. There should definitely not be a maximum page count!

Every library pays for different licenses on Libby. I'm glad yours has it!

I can't afford to keep myself in books... Thank God for the library!

I'm the voracious reader friends come to for recommendations :) Usually I'm kind of in a flow with my own plans, but sometimes I'll take a spin through the looooong TBR list if I don't have something on hand to scratch a particular brain itch.

Wing it for sure. My TBR is a list on StoryGraph/Goodreads, not a pile. Unless you count my neatly bagged library books as a pile...
