Just handwrote the entire 1st draft of the 1st act of my novel in under 3.5 weeks. Blown away. I’ve always been better pen to page — much more present, less clever, more real, but I haven’t written longform by hand since high school. I don’t watch TV “news.” I read the NYT (often angrily), listen to NPR (same) & surf headlines here. If you’re still angry at TV news eons after the fairness doctrine lapsed, I’d suggest you have a mistaken understanding of what “news” means. Turn it off. You’ll be happier & better informed w/o it.
