We need medical research funding for long covid and ME. We need NHS services that can manage symptoms and prescribe experimental medications. We need care, understanding and health professionals to be trained in ME. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

At the heart of every attack on disability benefits is the myth disabled people “get perks”: a free car, loads of cash, a life off work. It misrepresents the reality of disability, whilst exploiting low wages and high living costs to make the public envy people in daily pain.

🚨1/11. NEW: #LongCovid services are failing patients!! A joint report from us at Long Covid Support & @longcovidkids.bsky.social reveals: 🔴 There are clinics closing 🔴 Care is inconsistent & often falling short of NHS commissioning guidelines More & link below!! ⬇️ #ClosingClinics

Our study on the prevalence of #LongCovid analysing data from over 750K people in England. Will do a thread of main findings later today. Watch this space. www.euronews.com/health/2025/...

1/3 Considering new research from @long_covid & @LongCovidKids yesterday which shows 1 in 2 people with #LongCovid now consider themselves to be disabled by the condition, wonder where this sudden, staggeringly huge, entirely novel group of disabled people fit into the #GreenPaper?

If you’re interested in a crash course from the beginning in chronic issues with COVID I recommend this excellent interview with David Putrino. Perhaps the least well understood consequence is the damage every infection likely causes everyone, symptomatic or not. www.cbc.ca/player/play/...

Five years on from the COVID-19 pandemic, almost one in 10 people are unsure if they have Long Covid. Read about the latest research from @nisreenalwan.bsky.social and colleagues. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It’s been a while since we’ve published a report on @independentsage.bsky.social but the issue of DEI in science is hugely important. We cannot let the political and ideological motivations of the Trump administration undermine robust, rigorous and inclusive science. Please share.

Proud to have co-authored a new @longcovidsupport.bsky.social @longcovidkids.bsky.social report on Long Covid clinics in UK. #LongCovid services must a) not close & b) meet the needs of people with Long Covid. Please share🙏 #ClosingClinics

It was lovely to contribute to the @long_covid textile banner recently. I'm not an amazing sewer but I volunteer for them and wanted to help! This had elements of tracking, acceptance and hope. The day I sent it I'd had #LongCovid 1500 days, the number of tallies in the piece.

📣 Some of the work we do is in #LongCovid research. Several of our charity members have been involved in an array of research and have co-authored many significant papers. Take a look at some of them on our website - Link below! ⬇️ #ResearchLongCovid

Well done people, such great and very impt work. 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Let us not underestimate how much work that would be for anyone - and you've all achieved this and have Long Covid. I hope you're all back home safe and have somewhere cosy to hunker down and rest up after an exciting and intenso day xxx

A new BMJ review claims that #LongCovid can be treated using CBT and physical exercise As ever, the devil is in the detail TL; DR the authors' own risk-of-bias analyses show that their own conclusion is unwarranted (Too bad they hid the crucial deets in an online supplement!) cc #pwME #MECFS

The #LongCovid community have been saying the same. #LongCovid is the elephant in the room & we need leadership in govt & healthcare to acknowledge the let it rip strategy has been an unmitigated disaster for all generations alive & the harm needs to stop. We can all see it, why can't they say it?

🚨 Huge political disconnect between UK employment reforms & UK #LongCovid prevalence/devastating impact klaxon 🚨 'Inactive' 'Long term sick' - think #LongCovid illness & disability 'CYP left behind' - think #LongCovid illness & disability www.gov.uk/government/n...

Very happy to help anytime @katha1970.bsky.social 😊😊😊

Feels like a good time for a thread about all things exercise for people living with infection (and exposure)-associated complex chronic illnesses (IACCs) such as #MECFS, #LongCOVID and chronic #Lyme /tick- and vector-borne illness. Let’s start with a trip down memory lane. 1/
