I only have a tiny 500 sub count, but reading all of this makes me glad I took an hiatus that's lasted over a year for gender transition and to just rediscover my creative voice. It's so bizarre how those reddit subs try to reduce creativity to a math problem.

Feel free to DM me if you want to gab and pick each other's brains! I'm currently planning my comeback to YouTube anyway so I can burn time while you get the systems where you want them

You are an ABSOLUTE saint for fellow indie devs! I want to do something that's like a marriage of Final Fantasy and Zelda so I'm very giddy now!

As someone who wants to use OoT mechanics for their own project, this is fascinating to me.

My partner really loves the idea I have for a fantasy RPG and we're already absurdly close in the eyes of some despite only dating for 2 years. Currently I'm making plans to return to YouTube first so I can cultivate an audience and form of marketing there!

It's why I look forward to starting an indie game project with my partner in the future. The challenges and struggles of game dev help solidify strong bonds with others that I want to make.

As a burgeoning trans woman, that wolf dad energy (wolves are amazing dads) to use your strength as a man to protect those who are more vulnerable is a walking green flag imo. Given how besieged LGBT people are now more than ever, any CIS guy coming to our defense is HUGE.

I mean, what you said just confirms that you're a true, dyed in the wool ally. Which is awesome and we have no choice but to stan! If anything, we need more men like you.

I actually have all of those as reference for a personal project! Looking forward to seeing more of your work, it helps inspire the hobby game dev project I'm working on.

I love these two maps and would kill to have individual dungeon maps like you're doing for Wind Waker.

I have a similar experience. It's mostly that I have more trouble button mashing post 30, but reflexes, coordination, and problem solving for video games has only gone up for me. I've oddly had a similar, but slower, experience with drawing despite not consistently practicing for years.

I'm personally more of a fan of Marc Davis, but I won't deny Kahl's incredible skill at the craft of animation.

My furry partner would approve.

I've been having fun with pre-production stuff atm, currently it's helping my partner get more familiar with UE5 since they have more of a programmer brain than I do.

Nice to meet you! My partner and I are getting started with working on our own indie game soon.

Helps that with AAA cannibalizing itself, indie games only become more appealing since they aren't made to benefit a bottom line.

Mostly pre-production for a game project with my partner and possibly some script writing.

Sounds awesome, my partner is slowly learning Unreal to help me with some game dev too.

I feel this from my own video essay productions lol. It can sometimes take 10-15 takes for a single sentence just to get something decent. Doesn't help that ADHD can make it difficult to read MY OWN paragraphs.

It's convenient that people are making these.

Yeah seeing Elon destroy Twitter with his divorced energy motivated me to migrate over here too. Glad to see you're over here too friend!
