I find it extremely depressing that this account gets so much traction but I understand the appeal. People want to believe there’s a secret resistance movement of park rangers out there. But they’re just cosplaying. And selling merch.

midnights full of music (another traffic box illustration set!!)

Just a reminder #furry

Masks are under serious threat at being banned widely due to politicization. This would be a public health disaster. If you are only wearing a mask at protests, please consider also wearing them elsewhere. The more people mask, the more we normalize masks and protect them against bans.

"Of course, it is no mystery why so many children are getting Long COVID. So many children are getting Long COVID because so many children are getting COVID. Over, and over, and over again."

🔸February 1-Hour Coyote Painting Studies 16 & 17🔸 The final two studies! I managed to finish these up just in time for the end of the month. This was a really great process to go through, and I look forward to doing it again with another species as soon as I can! I'm thinking hares next...

There is a LOT to learn from what is going on right now. If you didn't learn that neither major US party is on your side during George Floyd, or any previous incident, learn now. Get involved in unions, in socialist organizing, in mutual aid. Don't wait! You don't have to give it your whole life,

I’m quoted in this article re: “violence” & “peace” related to the Los Angeles protests. This is LA! Politicians don’t dictate how people are going to act. 1965 Watts Rebellion. 92 riots. 2020 uprisings. The student intifada. This is LA! Either support or sit back & stfu.

The Right branding the media as hopelessly liberal to create an entire ecosystem that benefits them is one of the better psy-ops of the 20th century.

In the early part of the 20thC, the Swiss artist Hans Emmenegger began making recurrent themes of enigmatic, dark forest interiors, exploring the optical effects of light and colour. This work was painted in 1933.

Whatever horrors you're reading about in the news today, this week, this month, this year, the cause of most of them is the same: the breakdown of society due to capitalism's end-of-life crisis. There is no escaping it or wishing it away: capitalism is a system of horrors, and we must aboilsh it.

I just like to post these data from time to time to puncture the mythological aura of mid 20th c protests. They were less popular than pretty much any 21st c mass action & people criticizing them used the same lines. Protest is about people coming together, shaping narratives, & building power.

🔸February 1-hour Coyote Studies 14 & 15 🔸 I think these were my favorite two from the whole batch! Things just seemed to really all come together in a new way at this point, and I had found a more satisfying painting flow, too.

🔸February 1-Hour Coyote Study 13🔸 I think I finished this one a little early, since by this point I was getting a lot better at knocking in the initual drawing and knowing how to build up my paints! Really liked how the expression came out, too.

🔸February 1 Hour Coyote Studies 11 & 12 🔸 At this point it feels like things are starting to snap into place better! I'm also working slightly larger on these, roughly 4" x 5".

🔸February 1 Hour Coyote Studies 🔸 Managed to do three in one evening for these! Still figuring out my process on these, but I could feel things starting to shape up a little more.

🔸February Coyote Study 7 🔸 This one was a little unusual- leaning further into the brushstroke stylization from the previous study and testing how far I could go with abstracting info.

I’m just gonna keep saying this AI is an authoritarian tool for state capture and social engineering.

stay safe! avoid kettles!!

Just a normal day in 2025: reading student check-ins & finding the note from a student sharing that their parent will not be coming to see them in the school play b/c they heard that ICE is targeting public gatherings at schools.

🔸February Coyote Studies 5 & 6 🔸 More 1 hour coyote studies! I had to go over on time with the green one due to not having a solid initial drawing, but took that lesson to heart for the rest of the studies and found much better success!

WIP I've been waiting to work on since last year, a collab I started w @jonathanvair.bsky.social about my relationship to disability and the body shortly before he became disabled from long covid. I finally have some time to do art again so hoping to work on it again soon!

David Graeber said this in 2012 about protests in New York City. Though this is increasingly what is happening this week in Los Angeles. davidgraeber.org/articles/con...

Art by Wren McDonald.

Always remember:

🔹February Coyote Studies 3 & 4🔹 Finally back to posting art now that I'm settling back in at home! Picking back up with sharing my 1 hour coyote painting studies from earlier in the year.

"How to Organize in the Furry Fandom" has been accepted into Anthrocon programming! Over the next few days I'll be doing some edits on the talk with the goal of releasing the script/slideshow online this week. Then, hopefully getting a passable video recording of the talk when we give it at AC.

🚨 THREAD: What just happened in Los Angeles is not normal, and it differs from past deployments of the National Guard in key ways that you need to understand. This is a breakdown of the history, the playbook, and why this move reeks of bad faith.

US Soldiers in Vietnam rolling a grenade under the tent of their psychopathic War Crime loving CO wasn't a phenomenon that started overnight, but the idea spread, sometime by whisper and radio comm. Sometimes it happened on its own. But it happened a lot more than you'd think Protests played a role

the more i learn about ai development and the data centers these tech corporations are building and the amount of money and power the people in these companies have and the jobs they want to destroy, the more i understand that we cannot let them build this future they want for us

There was an old tweet that stuck with me: "If you can easily walk to the coffee shop but your barista has a one hour commute, you don't live in a walkable 15 minute city; you live in a theme park"

The black panthers knew the law well for a good reason. It’s important to be able to use it against them when you can. It doesn’t always work but it is an important tool. Castro too. Communists shouldn’t forget this.
