I'm an unabashed Godspeed fan, and have been since their early EP days. Aside from voting for this album, if you have a chance to see them live I HIGHLY recommend it. Amazing visuals along with the music. A great experience.

Considering that the BC Liberals were essentially the conservative party here, I'm kinda surprised she actually tried.

Oh man, I'd forgotten about this. Pretty sure I used to have the 45.

100% toss up for me I agree with your Neko thoughts too

BDB has some nostalgia for me due to it being a friend's favourite of that year. She's not around anymore so I'm throwing a vote for her.

Been an admirer of Timony since the Helium days, but c'mon.

I honestly have no idea where I saw them. Warped Tour maybe? I think it was a festival of some kind. Bosstones were good fun back then too.

Those are my faves too. Although I only got to see them once.

I ran that for a group of 10-12 yo and it went pretty well.

I noticed that short cut of "Self Control" and was thinking that I'd heard it before, but I'd forgotten that it was Laura Branigan.

I'm in BC, and my kids (HS age) and all their friends say "on accident". Maybe more Americanism seeping in?

this worked for me, thanks

With a little more depth. White Pepper is not their best, and as someone else said, their pastiches are often so close to the real thing as to be them, but Bananas and Blow, man, Bananas and Blow

We live relatively rurally, and there are no facilities at the local hospital, so the bus comes by regularly for those who need it. It parks at the hospital.

Also shoutout to the drummer I saw at the hardcore show last weekend with a Run DMC style DON CAB t-shirt. Can't remember which band, there were like 30

100% get why people would vote for Amy Mann, but I'm team Don Cab all the way on this one.

Agree, the last *great* U2 album came out in 1984

Gotta put in a quick shout-out for Kid Koala in this. Fun, inventive turntablism. He's a really nice guy too.

My kids' schools both have ceremonies and "Orange Shirt Day" the school day before the holiday. And they also do that for Remembrance Day. (Which is also a day off here in BC)

Roots is so great.

Speaking of NOMEANSNO, I just found out that John Wright's band DEAD BOB is playing at the small festival I'm going to this weekend. Sweet! It's been years!

Well it was a tossup for me, so Go-Betweens it is this round

that NOMEANSNO album is so great.

Liked both, loved neither. Felt like a Goldfrapp day to me.

Oh, and as a casual fan of Doves - some of my friends really liked them - they have better coming as well.

I'm enjoying the album write-ups. Thanks for doing them. Got your blog on my RSS reader now too.

It always felt that way to me. Although it's not like Ball of Confusion wasn't there first.

I have done exactly the same thing. Also "wow they're playing this live version really fast"
