We are calling you out, Vancouver "Greens," because the tens of thousands of trees being cut down with your approval have blue ribbons which means "NOT INSPECTED but remove anyway." You have seen the evidence and you ignore it! #deforestation #ecocide #stanleypark #logging #sciencedenial

This picture says it all. The "log out Stanley Park" alliance. Sorry, Vancouver "Greens," but the tens of thousands of trees being cut down with your approval have blue ribbons which means "NOT INSPECTED but remove anyway." You have seen the evidence and you ignore it! #deforestation #ecocide

Our group will do whatever we can to prevent you from going to Ottawa and doing to the rest of Canada what you have done to Vancouver.

And what about the Vancouver Greens' denial of the pillaging of Stanley Park by climate-deniers?

We fear that you are in a situation @annettereilly.bsky.social where no matter what your personal conclusions are, you will not be free to contradict your GPV PB Commissioner @tomdigby1.bsky.social who we understand is deeply and idealogically committed to the Blackwell logging contacts.

You could have just renamed Stanley Park instead of destroying it, and saved $18.9 million to boot!

You're criticizing Trump?

She isn't independent. She can't meet with us or take a position without permission from the GPV Board. The GPV Board decided not to overrule Digby, who jumped in head first on the demolition of SP for some reason we don't understand yet.

Our petition has almost 22,000 signatures. Although many of the signatories don't vote in Vancouver, many do. I can't imagine they would vote for a party that promotes the logging of Stanley Park, a National Historic Site.

My guess is that Digby's actions and GPV inaction will cost GPV thousands of votes.

Here's an opportunity to meet us and learn something about what is going on with SP:
Press conference and rally today Tuesday Feb 11 2025 3:30pm Nelson & Hornby streets announcing our lawsuit just filed yesterday. All welcome.

@annettereilly.bsky.social has good values and I agree with many of her positions. But unfortunately she seems to be susceptible to the false, uneducated narrative promoted by COV, Digby, and Blackwell that "all of those worthless dangerous dead trees in SP need to be cut down immediately!"

We shouldn't have to jump through hoops and go through GPV executives who we already know will not stand up for Stanley Park just to set up another meeting. If @annettereilly.bsky.social wants to gain votes rather than lose them then she should come to us and ask for a meeting.

I just published this article on my medium site. Please let us know when you can meet to discuss this very important ecological issue in our back yard!

"I also know the importance of removing unsafe trees."
OK, but the trees that COV is removing are not unsafe.

We can't imagine that as a politician you could be opposed to what your own party's Park Board commissioner passionately promotes.
Please take a look at his pontifications about killing baby hemlocks and turning SP into a tree farm: vimeo.com/1052859183

2/2 Telling us to go talk to GPV leadership won't help because we've already done that. The GPV has put itself in the understandably embarrassing position of promoting ecocide in Vancouver. Many passionate citizens of this city will do anything within the law to stop this irreparable travesty.

1/2 I believe you were unaware when u signed for GPV that GPV is complicit in logging SP. But by being a GPV candidate you take on some responsibility for GPV actions.
You are up against many people who are deeply offended by what is no less than the raping of SP. There is no rational other side.

@annettereilly.bsky.social We feel empathy for you as a new politician. We believe your heart is in the right place. Unfortunately you landed with a poltical party which made a big error in judgement by following Mr. Digby's anti- environmental and anti-science lead on SP logging. It will haunt you.

That's great that you want to hear all sides. Please specify how we can meet to talk. TEAM met with us and agrees with our position that Stanley Park should not be logged out.

Thank you for the recognition. I think respectful communication is the only way to solve problems. But not everyone responds to that, so they? Sometimes you have to yell. Especially when you’re so used to not being heard.
I am always willing to hear all sides.

That acknowledgement is much appreciated! You obviously have non-violent communication skills and we would like to respond in kind. Would you be willing to meet with us and hear why we are extremely disappointed by the failure of the Vancouver Greens to stand up for Stanley Park?

This is my first negative comment as a politician! I am so glad it’s from a group that is using their voice to protect our planet. We need all sorts of voices and representation in this world. I appreciate you using yours.

How can you complain about Trump when your Vancouver Green party as represented by Thomas Digby is employing Trump-style tactics such as denial of science and top-down dictatorship to log out Stanley Park? @tomdigby1.bsky.social

You should be ashamed to be representing the Vancouver Greens @vangreens.bsky.social, who with Thomas Digby @tomdigby1.bsky.social at the helm, are complicit in the logging of Stanley Park #stanleypark with no rational justification.

Blowdowns after December 14, 2024 windstorm . Difficult to find even a partially defoliated hemlock. Living cedar and living hemlock. More evidence the City of Vancouver's logging of Stanley Park is a fraud.
