It is a pity that in the America First program federal employees aka American citizens were not included. ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Tesla buyers are mostly urban. Why do they still buy Tesla? Let the sale decline. CyberTruck is a joke. It will die on its own.

European leaders are like Dems. They will meet, discuss, discuss, discuss and wont reach agreement. ๐Ÿ˜ซ

The real issue is we canโ€™t do anything about this or the only thing we can do is keep calm and carry on for the next 4 years. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

So he was safe in the prison?

Also think about- He still wants to buy Greenland and his supporters know how to get in Capitol Hall by force.

Isnโ€™t this idea similar to socialism where the gap between rich and poor is narrower? This is not suitable for a capitalist country like America.

Not all H1Bs are contractors. Many companies who value their FTEs cut contractors first. When H1B job is cut they get only 60 days to look another job. If unsuccessful, they go back to their homeland. The scenario you explained is possible too, so the one I explained.
comment in response to post
Yes they are in the backlog. So? Many of them will go back if they canโ€™t sustain the jobs. Others will wait until their time comes.
comment in response to post
lol why do I have to attend law school? I am a past H1B holder. Me and several of people on H1B have become citizens by keeping their jobs and working hard. None of them have married American. We know the course, donโ€™t you worry.
comment in response to post
Wrong and absolutely not true
comment in response to post
Only if you are an Indian and until you get GC. Please note that H1B is no created for Indians alone. Once you get GC, you are a free agent too.

I am already been tasked to use AI tools to cut down on people. If I donโ€™t do it successfully, they will find someone else who can get it done. No kidding!
comment in response to post
Did you not know that America is a capitalist country? Do you really think in the era of internet, the companies are going to cut fat checks for you? Do you not realize that they are already moving those jobs offshore?
comment in response to post
There are 85,000 h1B visas per year. This is not a news. If Americans can do these jobs, you should target then government and corporations that are neglecting you.
comment in response to post
These are petitions. Not approved visas. What is the problem?
comment in response to post
Corporate greed is the right word because America is a capitalist country. If they stop or cut down on H1B, the corporate America is going to move those jobs to Mexivo, Columbia, India, Ukraine. Rather, they are already doing it.

The problem you don't get is people age out. The market is full of newly educated young generation. As I grow older, my work capacity goes down. A young dude can work longer hours to get the job done. People get replaced all the time. What you don't like is getting replaced by non citizen
comment in response to post
If that has happened to you I genuinely feel sorry but that's not the purpose of H1B. Many foreign students come to the US for further studies. Engineers, doctors, scientist. They all work on H1B and other similar visas.
comment in response to post
Dropping American employees is absolutely not correct but if Indians are paid less they won't be the group earning the highest median salaries in the US so think about it.
comment in response to post
I was on H1B. Worked for a reputed American company that treated me well. Spend on my visa processing, paid me equally as others and I got promotions in my journey. No one singled out me and asked me to work long hours. They processed my GC so pls be careful when asking about direct knowledge.
comment in response to post
They do but due to country quota too many Indians are on backlog hence it takes years to get the GC.
comment in response to post
Lol do you think H1Bs are not included in the layoffs? They are the first ones to go as they are contractors. Please donโ€™t spread MAGA fear mongering here.
comment in response to post
If you are happy calling it a norm then be it. No big companies abuse H1Bs. The abuse happens from Indian companies like Cognizant, Infosys and all. I will agree to disagree with you and stop the conversation.
comment in response to post
I don't think its a norm. Not denying, it must be happening in places but my personal experience is not the same and not for many other known people so blanket statements are not needed.
comment in response to post
Lol! If that bothers someone they tend to go back. I know people returning to India due to several reasons. Those who stay here, they stay by choice and not because of slavery.

** no overtime paid

I am aware that there is no overtime but you can't be forced to work overtime.

How many jobless American engineers do you know? Is there any data to support your claim?
comment in response to post
SpaceX is not the only place where H1Bs work.
comment in response to post
Longer hours, sponsor holding cards its all BS. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Apple, google, Pzifer, Facebook, Novartis, Amazon blah blah all have H1Bs and no they don't make them work long hours or pay less salary. Also, they can go to HR with their issues.

But thank you for the wishes. I now have a few H1Bs on my team. Never make anyone work long hours as work life balance is important to me and in my long career no one expected me to work long hours.

We became citizens a decade ago so I can now start my catering business part time. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

We were on H1B. Every dime for our visa processing was paid by the employer. We got promotions, bonuses and other perks. The only condition was to stay in the lane, can't become sw engineer to cook ๐Ÿ˜ and the only stress was that we don't get fired because of 60 days condition. We survived & thrived.
comment in response to post
Exactly! I am astound to see people making blanket statements about cheap labor working longer hours.
comment in response to post
Do you know how little you know about H1B? But it's okay! ๐Ÿ™„

Everyone has their own path to success/ failure. Some are successful early on. Some are not. Some are ambitious, some are content. It is important to set goals and work towards it. There is always someone going to be more successful than you but being jealous is not going to change your success.
comment in response to post
So who is responsible for it? Hard-working immigrants or capitalist American government and employers?
comment in response to post
That is mostly right. They can still change jobs and they do but a lot of hassle. USCIS is not kind (not that I am asking them to be) so people stay in that job. This may be true for any 1st generation immigrants. H1B or not.
comment in response to post
Where is he saying this? Link please
comment in response to post
There are already so many H1B holders in the US including Musk so the talent is there but the employers need more talent at a cheaper price. Hence H1B
comment in response to post
Of course, no doubt there but is it the fault of foreigners looking for a decent life, the visa itself or is it the fault of the greedy employers and the government?

So who talked shit about MAGA? Elon? I thought he was stating the facts. I wonโ€™t wonder if I get to know Elon moved a little left on his scale yesterday.
