Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating. This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens. (Even better: Tesla will hate this)

There is an alternate universe where Trump and the GOP don’t go down the anti-vax rabbit hole, promote the hell out of the wildly successful Operation Warp Speed, and annoyingly take credit, for a generation, for all the amazing follow-on tech that comes from mRNA vaccines

Assuming the mean wage cut from United’s books is £60,000/yr, these 200 layoffs will offset the money they spent on Antony in approximately 9 years.

Vuskovic appears to just be a cheat code on corners. Man-child is going to get double digit goals in Belgium this year.

What undergraduates do within the confines of their campus should absolutely never make national news. The world was a better place when we allowed 20 year olds to be morons with minimal repercussions.

Harry Maguire, the Phil Jones Endowed Chair of Defending at Manchester United.

Speaking of which, blessing everyone’s timelines with this all-timer:

First bsky post I’ve seen that approaches “Elliot Gould and Grover” levels of hilarious

Instead of quoting fmr. Harvard officials, we need to put the deans of Alabama-Birmingham, Utah, and Vanderbilt front and center. These schools are whole-number percent contributors to their red state’s GDPs.

I think body slamming one of these DOGE guys through a table when they show up at your little part of the Department of Agriculture that weighs cows would actually have an impact

Some children have rescued my mental and emotional well-being because they kicked the ball good. Spurs are definitely healthy for me.

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT

@george-miller.org happy to hear about the step in the right direction! Will save my full throated congratulations for post scans. ❤️

Yes, the referee missed the corner kick call and that got Arsenal a goal, but it's a pretty normal and reasonable missed call that happens often. We don't need to discuss every single call over and over again, dorks.

A friendly reminder for those of you that got a cashmere scented candle for Christmas… Those are goats. You got a goat-scented candle.

As we careen towards Christmas, it's time once again to feature one of the greatest series of articles ever to appear on Cartilage Free Captain: A Christmas Tom Carroll.

It's always nice to see a dynasty fall, but remember, City have been doing a valuable service by denying trophies to teams you don't like while simultaneously evoking absolutely no emotion in you. Remember when they did the treble? Me neither. Put some respect on their name.

@wertwhile.bsky.social Let me DM you, I was combing through files and found a letter where Henry Richardson Jr calls Thurgood Marshall a muttonhead. It’s spectacular.

Wyoming lawmakers have joined the single-stair chat informed by data presented by Pew this week A single-stair bill is now being considered to allow the apartments that "are significantly smaller, cheaper & easier to build than apartments with two staircases" www.jhnewsandguide.com/jackson_hole...

One of the fun, long-term side effects of getting hit by a car while biking is being sent into blinding rage for every near miss thereafter

A great post less about music and more about what experiencing the passage of time feels like.

He’s offside but LOL still

@george-miller.org Did you see that Josh Keeley scored for O’s yesterday? (Something fun to focus on rather than the Spurs match)
