Safe air in our schools is key. Whether itâs due to temperature, smoke or disease, we need to engineer the air in public schools, daycares and medical facilities.

Really appreciate seeing a KN95 - I wish nurses would advocate for K/N95s to be standard in healthcare. You deserve safe workplaces!

Our asks are:
1. Boosting funding for science & LongâCOVID research
2. Upgrading ventilation in schools, hospitals & LTC
3. Novavax procurement & manufacturing
4. Federal guidelines on airborne precautions (N95s) yearâround in healthcare

itâs not theater. an imperfectly-fitting mask is better than no mask at all. & layering mitigations is the way to go since none are perfect (though some certainly more effective than others).

Agree that law enforcement needs to be identifiable/verifiable. How we discuss face coverings requires nuance - we run the risk of feeding into beliefs used to justify mask bans.

Gators and respirators are very different. Wearing a K/N95 mask in public spaces (especially healthcare, transportation, grocery/pharmacy) is critical to normalize masks as a public health tool vs tool of oppression.

* There #NPIs for damping down infections (& preventing more cases of #LongCOVID). But #N95 masks, #HEPA air cleaners, open windows, a #CleanAirAct, & #Davos-safe schools/workplaces, etc., would undermine the government #Fiction that the pandemic is over. When it very much isn't.

4. The majority of people I know have now not been vaccinated for at least two years, if not longer.
None of the individuals concerned would consider themselves to have Long Covid, yet many suspect Covid caused their new health issues.
All of this concerns me.

11. If your fans aren't very good at cooling, you may need to clean them. But you can also make a fan shroud to focus their air power. This is easiest with a box fan and some cardboard.
The CR box crew has directions!
A CR box can filter smoke, too.

Reporting on Covid without mentioning Long Covid risk to everyone is misinformation. When a public health official like Dr. Margolius does it the harm is especially grave. It's his job to inform the public that both acute & long Covid are still a big deal for all, including healthy people.

I am sorry you are experiencing this and appreciate you sharing! We urgently need to prevent reinfections to avoid additional/worsening long covid while pursuing treatments.

Please do better @scrippsnews.bsky.social. This article minimizes the post-acute consequences that are impacting a significant number of adults and children. (Re)-infection is preventable with N95s, clean indoor air, testing, education and stay home when symptomatic.

I'm happy to share all of my Long COVID experiences, from infection in schools due to poor safety protocols, to gaslighting GPs and cardiologists leading to a preventable heart attack.
